Just wondering if anyone here is applying to El Centro or Brookhaven this year?
If so, did you take ONLY the pre-reqs or did you take the pre-reqs AND the General Req. classes?
Also, does anyone know what the lowest GPA is that they are accepting?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'll be finished with the pre-reqs and most of the General Req. classes but my GPA is about a 3.0. I'm wondering if I should take a couple of the classes over to try and get my GPA up a little.
THANKS IN ADVANCE
Cheryl
Hey Spill,
Hey don't feel bad. I was right there with you point-wise. I know of quite a few people who had 27's ad 28's so I figured it was a no go for this application period.
Was Brookhaven the only school you applied to? I'm applying to a couple of other schools as well so hopeful one of those will pan out. Have you thought about going the LVN to RN route? Just another way to get to that ultimate goal.
Sandy
Hi I'm a new user here. Sorry for bumping a 3 month old topic.
I recently completed all but 2 classes, A&PII and Microbiology, and am going to apply at El Centro for Spring 07 admission.
I will not be able to complete the Microbiology prior to application...will I still have a good chance at getting in? (I also got a B in Developmental PSYC..agh)
And is the NET test for El Centro JUST reading and math? (plus the stress, etc) As in, no A&P or science stuff? :0
Can anyone tell me how hard or what the minimal points were to get into BH/EC/NL were most recently?
Is anyone going through or gone through the program with children?
I want to kick myself. I got accepeted 4 years ago to EC, but decided to wait for family reasons. Now, I get to take all those fun prereq's again and everything has changed. At least there are online prereq options. Can anyone tell me how it is taking an online Bio class. I had 2401 and 2402, but looking to take SCIT next fall.
Thanks
Hi 2y2k2000, I got into the fall 2007 semester at El Centro. The minimum GPA was a 3.77 I think for pre reqs. For support courses it was like 9 hrs with a 4.0. I actually did not get in at first, I got in on the wait list. I have 17 hours of support courses with a 3.53. I have a small child, but cannot tell you what it's like because I have not started class yet. I pray that I will do fine, my family will help me out a lot, and I will not be working at all. Hope this helps!
Hi Linz and 2y2k,
First of all, congrats Linz! I am now a 3rd semester student at EL Centro, I just wanted to tell you guys, you will not be the only moms there. Many of my classmates are moms with family and lots of responsibilities besides school and some even work, which I thankfully don't have to do.
Here on the forums there are several threads ( 3 or 4) that we from EC started, why don't you guys just come and look them up. They are probably on pages 3 and 4 now(ex." North Lake/El Centro - Fall '06! ), since everyone is taking a break, but usually they are very active and maybe very informative for you all. Warning ,though , there is lots of reading . If you guys have any specific questions come on over or ask me, I am glad to help.
