I didn't see a thread on AVC nursing so I just made one for everyone. IS anyone applying to AVC nursing or in the program already? The person working at the department told me it would be like 3 semester waits. I'm expecting to get in around fall 2011 or spring 2012 since I turn in my application around October 2010. Anyone in the program already, would you please share your experience. Anyone who is about to get in the program, can you please tell me how long you've waited since the time you turn in the application?
Thanks everyone!!!
i wasnt aware of the budget cuts and really, the main reason why i said you have a high chance is because i was number 80 in november. i thought for sure i wouldnt get in but just to make sure i called every week to see what number i was because i lived in san diego and had a lease with an apartment and i just needed to know. when the avc semester was over and the school was closed down i thought it was 100% guaranteed i wouldnt get in that spring semester. well i was wrong, they called me late December and asked me if i was interested. that means that i went from being number 80 to a number less than 60. and even then, our class was suppose to have 60 but ended up with 56, i think.
the programs tough only because its different. the information you get is all common sense or at least easy to understand. the problem is that its just a lot of little information you gotta know. and im not talking about just knowing the info, you have to understand it inside and out.
i didnt start off so good and i honestly thought i was going to fail the class after the first exam results. but lucky for me i didnt study the same way the second time, or the third, fourth, fifth and sixth time. i kept having to fine tune the way i studied because being in the nursing program challenged my studying habits. i think i got the hang of it now. youll know if you see me in third semester.
as far as preparation, i would say just relax. i didnt do anything except review the math 1 week before the start of the semester. but the math isnt so bad. plus, you have experience with nursing already and i think that will help you a lot. you may not even find it challenging.

Thanks for replying. You were referring to me right? Hopefully I can start soon. I was concerned because I heard they were having budget cuts and they accept 20 per term. I'm taking the Phil and commun. Class this fall for the program
