Average Scores on Kaplan Question Trainers and Qbank and Passed NCLEX 1/18/2013
Hi @Anh Thu Le, thanks so much for posting up the kplan score. I been searching around the site and couldn't find much help in comparing my score to others and seeing my chance to pass. Im taking the exam on May 7!!! My scores are QT 1: 58% QT 2: 65% QT3: 48% QT4:61% QT 5: 62% QT 6: 62% and then taking QT 7 next week before the exam Qbanks score varies from lowest which was 44%- highest 73% . Most of the Qbanks score landed around 57-62% I am so nervous and worry. Don't know what else to do anymore but keep studying except i don't want to verstudy and burden my brain. Studying kaplan majority of the time but just bought HurstReview last week so will be doing the practice test this weekend. I also did a few chapter on PDA book and a few questions in Liptincott Q&A Review for Nclex-RN. So nervous! i hope to pass the first time!!

Anyone Applying to Antelope Valley College RN program
oh right. forgot to mention. the program's immunizations paper requirement states that either you get the vaccines OR attach a copy of the titers results or a copy of the immunization records. But if last dose was more than five years, then titer require. Going straight to the vaccine sounds good if you dont have the records, but i think it could be risky. so titer is best. Besides, we all pretty much have these vaccines in us since we were a child. So titer would be positive and no need vaccinations. Just turn in the titer results. i think it depends on your doctor or the clinic u go to whether or not a titer is really needed or just going straight for the vaccine despite the chances that you might already have the immunity in you.

hi everyone, thanks for the reply. It was really helpful. I think I understand how it works now. and Yes i will talk to -------- on Monday or Tuesday just to confirm everything. Let say if someone has their immunization records (the yellow card- which i obvious dont have, cant find it!), and if all the vaccines has been up to date, within the last five years then theyre good. Just need to attach the copy of immunization record for the nursing program. No need anymore vaccination. But I guess in my case, I don't have the records. Even if i had the vaccines within five years to this date, I would still need a titer drawn since i got nothing to prove i had it. So titer is the only way to prove whether or not i have immunity to whatever im testing for. So that being said, and thanks to catsolores, I will definitely go get a titer. I got no choice! (aggghh...that 's gonna be expensive). I dont think I can just request them to give me the shots. Doctors just want to be safe and check if u have been immuned or not. I heard from some people getting vaccinated again, even though u already got the immunity can cause some kind of reaction. I don't want to risk my health =D !!! So titer it is! Hopefully I am as lucky as Catsolores on having all the titer positive, that way i dont need to spend anymore money for the vaccinations lol! @Maylyvn- hi! Same here I dont remember much about LVN, but it wasnt much. Sorry, I was paying attention to my RN. But I do remember about her mentioning how LVN has to finish all their application (background check, drug test, and the Physical exam) before Class start which is in January. And that its better to get it all the paperwork done as soon as u can so that you can register for the nursing class and pick your clinical time. Oh she did mention about LVN not having their own mandatory information session, its all going to be in their handbook. About your insurance requirement, when you purchase it, make sure to make the effective date relevant to when you start your program. Like for RN student, insurance effective date is 2/6/12. For LVN, im assuming its somewhere in Janurary 2012. I dont remember the actual date she mention for lvn, sorry. But overall, there wasnt any specific due date for the drug test and insurance and background and physical exam. Its just the sooner the better. For example, if u do need the vaccination, then its best to start now. Because all of them require like 2 doses (xcept the hepatitis-need three series) that are couple weeks apart. And if u get all ur paperwork done, then the nursing department will let u register for class. Otherwise, its off limit until everything is clear. So its like first come first serve! I want to pick the teacher I want and the clinical time that I want. Oh right, for the background check, the website is like wat catsoleres said. Go to the website, click on "students" and enter the package code for ur specified program: AK48. And thats about it. I hope that helps. Oh by the way, has anyone here done their drug test and physical exam at the school health department before? The Care-a-Van? Because i found a few public health clinic and it suppose to be like a free or low cost clinic. I havent call them yet but here is the info if anyone wants it. In lancaster: Antelope public Health Center 661-723-4624 or 4511 Antelope valley community clinic 661-942-2391 in palmdale: Antelope public health center 661-575-0009 they offer immunizations, but for titer im not so sure. I will be calling them next week to find out. anyways, thanks everyone. Sorry for such a long post

Anyone Applying to Antelope Valley College RN program
Hey guys, So I attended the informational session today and thought I unferstood the immunization paperwork entirrly but now im a bit confused. Im gona ask -------- again on monday but if u guy can help answer my question before monday would be hgelpful lol. From wat I understand , you need to be vaccinated end get tb test before rntering the program. It said that u need two dose of measle/munp/rubella, two dose of chicken pox, three series of hepatitis b. A titer are rewuired if the last dose was more than five years prior to the physical exam. Well the problem I have is that I know for sure I jave been vaccinated with all these when I was little u know for schol requirement. The thing is I dont have the immumization record so I dont know the actual date of last vaccination. I do know its more than five years. Wt I want to know is can I just go ahead and get vaccinated or do I have to get a titer first? And if I am require to get a titer, and the titer show I do have the protection, does that mean I dont need to get the vaccine and just turn in my titer results only? But if titer show that im not protected, then I must get the vaccine? Is that how it works? im sorry I just feel so confused. I just wanted to get vaccinated and skip the whole titer thing. The problem is I dont know if I have been vacvinated before and titering can show if I do or not, but it wil cost alot more money to get titer! Anyways if anyone ben thru this can u please clarify the whole process for me. Thanks thanks a bunch!!!

@ MayeLVN, wow mayelvn, u gotten really lucky. I heard coc is hard to get it isnt it? Its a lottery system, thats how u get in? Well, thats what i heard anyways. So ur in the bridge program for coc then? Well, if luck comes and u got an AVC acceptance letter, then u can deny coc for avc instead lol. U never know what can happen lol even though they're only taking 20. Thats kinda weird to me, only 20? At least 30 or more. This whole budget thing at AVC is really killing our nursing department. Well, I just hope ill be the lucky one in the 40s. @catsoleres, glad u found the email. Are u in the generic program? Well hopefully we can meet during the info session. Im not sure wat day i would go yet cause of work, but im looking at either the 27 or the 28th of October. By the way, does anyone know if its ok to work during the program? I mean how stressful would it be? Because i seriously nned to work to pay off rents and things. Really sucks but i think I will definitely crashed during nursing while working. I dont even know how the schedule will be like! Its probably gonna be hectic!

oh wow thanks MayeLVN. I actually just check my email on myavc. For some reason, I keep assuming they will contact you through the regular mailing letter. Totally forgot about checking my emails. Yes, thanks for clearing it up for me. I will be attending it, hoepfully on oct. 27. I am actually in the generic program, and the last time i check before i was scheduled for the teas test, I was around 50. So I'm really keeping my finger crossed to be acccept this coming semester. I hope you do too. Eight people is not that much so hopefully, you will get a spot. But wow, that really sucks if you cant get into the brigde this spring. That's like another year to go. Im really sorry. Have you try COC? Oh, and i didnt apply anywhere else. I only apply at AVC, so this is like my only chance. Well, hoepfully I will meet you at one of these informational session, and everyone else who is on this thread. Good luck to you too!!

Anyone Applying to Antelope Valley College RN program
hey MayeLVN, wat informational session? I havent heard from the department telling me to attend one. Is there one for this month? Im actually a little lost, can anyone attend the infomrational session, or just the people who got accepted into the program for next semester? Cause well, I just taken my teas on sept. 29, and I pass with a 79% (so happy, my sis with a 72%). Anyqways, the department told me that they wont be sending the acceptance letter until November. So, I guess Im assuming that maybe you're already accepted and theyre telling you to attend one. Haha im sorry MayeLVN. I dont know about this session, but i would like to go. Am I suppose to sign up for it? Can you tell me a bit about what it is? Thanks!

Anyone Applying to Antelope Valley College RN program
Hi NurseDalee, I heard the bridge program which is the lvn-rn program has at least a 2-3 years waiting list! Yes it is long. I think its better if you call in the departnment and find out yourself but i beleive wat i heard is correct because i came into the department asking about my waiting list rank and heard one of them telling a student on the phoen that it was going to be that long. Yes, i definitely agreee we need another college out here or they need to take in more students for the program every sememester. For COC i have no idea sorry. I am currently on the waitlist for the R program and so far, i have waited a year. I finally got the letter to take the teas test for the entrance into the program this spring so yeap. Well, goodluck to u! I hope you can find a lvn-rn program soon that dont have such a long waiting list.

Hey brittany 2241, congratulation!!! Happy for you!!!! Wow, you only have to wait 2 semester since your getting into fall 2011. Is that a letter to take the teas test to get into fall 2011 or you hav already taken the tease and will be offically starting the program in fall? Cuz i got a letter two months ago about being accepted into fall 2011 but i need to take the tease first. anyways i turn it down and told them I wont be able to get into the program until spring 2012 so i wont be taking the tease until somewhre in sept.
