anyone apply for sccc fall 2011 nursing program?

Just looking for company ... Has anyone applied for ammerman's fall 2011 nursing program? What are your grades and does anyone know last years GPA cutoff? Also, do you know anyone who got in without four A's?

This is a new thread...others are from a few urs ago.

Has anyone applied to ammermqn nights as first choice and gotten in yet or wait listed or rejected?

A friend of mine with just the cores is in - she is an EMT Already - maybe that influences their choice ... When someone is in the health field already??

I can't imagine that's the case, despite the fact that other's have been admitted already. I've been to several nursing seminars at Ammerman and every time they have said that they only look at the 4 prerequisites and Micro (if necessary). If that is the case however, then maybe they make exceptions for those in the healthcare field and go above the 120 seats that they have for the program. I may be wrong but It would seem really duplicitous to say over and over again that they only look at the 4 prerequisites and then bump somebody with a 3.9 GPA. Anyway. I guess time will tell. :anbd:

Looks like I got waitlisted for Ammerman...:crying2:. I honestly just don't get it. I have a 3.9 GPA, so I have no idea how they are picking people. Now what do I do? :confused:

You have a 3.9 overall GPA, or in the 4 classes they look at for admission? I can't believe they cut a 3.9!

I have a 3.8 and micro... still waiting haven't gotten my letter yet.

I took A&P I and II and Micro at Suffolk and got A's in all three classes. I have a BA in English from Stony Brook. I took Intro to Psych a number of years ago and I think I got a B in that class, if I remember correctly. So, (and I admit that I didn't think of this before), that B might have bumped my overall GPA down to a 3.8. That would explain the waitlist. I did not bother to take Freshman Composition because I already have a BA in English - what a waste of time and money that would be!

If I don't get accepted for this Fall, then I guess I will just have to take Intro to Psych over again and reapply to the program for next year.

Hopeful, do you know what your grade was for freshman comp when u did take it? even though you have your BA they probably just look at that specific grade because I've heard it's the four core classes and micro as a tie breaker.

whatever your gpa is for those 4 classes is what they go on.
