did anyone apply to the new grad program at hemet valley?

Published

I applied to Hemet Valley on July 8th 2013 and was wondering if anyone else did and has heard back? They were very clear not to contact them and ask about the status of applications. I had a friend try to apply on the 10th and they said they were not accepting anymore app's..... meaning they got tons, of course.

It kinda bothers me that hospitals say "please dont contact us". I do understand they receive an abundance of applications but what about just common curtacy and thanking those who took the time to locate, write a cover, drive or fill out app on line? ugh that even sounds silly as i write it, of course they don't care, thousands of apps for 10 or 20 jobs.

How do i get someone to put my app on the top of the pile if i don't have a relative working at a hospital????

WILL I EVER FIND A JOB??? :(((

Lamjammcgee, I do live in Riverside but I'm not sure if they show preference to people that live in Riverside. Why not show preference to Hemet, Perris, or Lake Elsinore then? I think we've been given a lot of time to think of all the possibilities that could happen with our application. If we get an interview it would be awesome and if not...on to the next one!

afis405, In the case of the hospital that said an applicant lived to far, I believe it was either san bernardino or redlands and they said riverside was too far. Odd though, the applicants cousin worked there and they lived together. I just mentioned it because i had never heard of that before.

Re: Hemet, I called this morning and they said they were still going through app's, so I guess thats doesn't rule us out, yet haha.

good luck in your search.

Thanks for the info! That's good news!

Hello girls/guys!

I'm new to this site and I saw this topic and thought I would post what I know about the Hemet Valley Medical Center's New Grad Program. Below is the response I got from the recruiter via email on Thursday.

All new grad applications will be reviewed in August; I will look to schedule interviews by the end of August and beginning of September.

So, hopefully calls will be going out soon. Sounds like they are a month behind of schedule.

I did all my clinical work at this hospital, including my preceptorship and did hear that they have a hard time keeping nurses that don't live close and were looking for applicants locally. How locally? I don't know.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the update! As far as the local applicants, I would move for this position and hate to think my application would be thrown out because I live 20 more miles then someone less qualified. That just sucks. :(

UPDATE:

Got a call from HR today. Interview on Friday!!! Hope you all get one too! :)

Just got rejected via mail. I guess location plays a big factor:down:

Yep me too :(. Well I already took another job so I guess I'm good.

I haven't heard back for an interview or rejection. Anyone else in the same boat?

UPDATE:

Got a call from HR today. Interview on Friday!!! Hope you all get one too! :)

How was your interview???

It went really well!

I interviewed with the nurse recruiter first and then went and interviewed with the nurse manager. I hope it was enough. I'm not sure what more I could of said or done to be honest.

I was told that 300 applied, 30 were selected for an interview, and only 10-15 will be in the program which starts September 23rd. All interviewed will get a respond back by September 6th or sooner.

They are still doing interviews this week, I believe. A friend of mine got a call 4 days earlier than I did to schedule an interview so I wouldn't lose hope on still getting a call for an interview for those who haven't heard back.

I hope I hear good news!!

I interviewed on Monday and found the interview to be very casual. More of casual talking and them just wanting to get to know you. I was too interviewed by the nurse recruiter and then the nurse manager in the hospital. I felt really confident and that it went well. Both of them were so nice and answered all questions.

We won't find out till the 6th, but my friend who interviewed last cohort and was offered a position said they called her 3 days after her interview. So crossing my fingers.
