Anyone apply to both KCC and UHM for SP2012?

I applied to KCC for SP2012, and made the alternate list. Does anyone know how many alternates KCC takes each semester and what my chances are ?:)

Interesting! I m in the exact same boat as u are and had posted the same question in one of the threads here. Hopefully we will be able to find out more soon. You mind if I ask what your gpa and nln scores are?

My NLN wasn't high at all, I had a 117.

But my GPA is a 3.9

And I have my CNA as well as CPR/First Aid

hopefully its enough.

We have similar GPA,but I have three core classes missing which hurts my chance quite a bit...have a working recommendation also and nln at 139.

I applied for spring 2011, got an alternate position but didn't get in. Reapplied for fall 2011, got accepted. I noticed a lot of the alternates got in on my semester though..it seems that we ended up being short anyways (with 37 total instead of 40). Perhaps a lot of them went to UH manoa instead...

Did you get the email about being alternative & the health requirements? Just to confirm, this means we don't need to have CPR/First Aid Certification AND all of the shots/vaccines right?

If you are an alternate, you should get all those things done asap, because they can accept you anytime. So even if you are higher in line for alternates, if you don't have everything done and they could skip you and take the next person who has all their paperwork done.

Nothing fancy, just a note from my boss at the care home I am working at stating I have hands on experience with direct patient care... Very simple one. That's the same one I used at LCC to qualify my residency.

I just got my letter two days ago, I'm off the alternate list and got on KCC :)
