  1. Still didn't receive any letter from UH Manoa :/
  2. I didn't get in for Sp 2012 =/ Disappointed, but still trying
  3. oh and my NLN composite was 118.. =/ are you applying to both UHM and KCC?
  4. Wow that's better than how I did ...I need someone to help me study for the Science and Verbal section. I got the same score for you on the math section, but verbal (61), science (57). I won't be able to retake the NLN until next year, so I'll have to apply with the same stats for Fall 2012...It seems like the science kills me even though I read/took the tests from the red/orange book.
  5. Adrenergic- I'm on the same boat as you... How did you do on the NLN this time around?? I have yet to retake mines as well =/ What are your stats when you applied?
  6. I had similar prereq and overall gpa as you, except my NLN wasn't so high :/ I applied for Spring 2012 but didn't get in. I know it's my NLN scores that messed up my chances... I'm trying to study for the NLN so i can retake it, but the Science and Verbal section is killing me. I studied the science portion by reading/taking the tests from the red/orange book, but to me it's like that didn't help...Idk what i can do to study for those. There's so many chemistry and physics -.-
  7. @GoCard What were you stats when you applied to UHM?
  8. Thanks for the tip. Yeah I think my math is fine, I just need to work on my Science and Verbal. Those are the two subjects that's messing me up. How did you do on verbal? Sorry if you already posted your stats on an earlier convo in this thread. As for the science, how did you study for that? Because to me it seems like reading the book and doing the practice quizzes/tests from the NLN study guide didn't really help me much? Not sure why...Any advice would be great :)
  9. Hi Mireille, Just wondering; what kind of working recommendation did you add to your application? What did they write in the recommendation?
  10. Your NLN composite is really good!!! How did you study for the science portion? I am having a hard time with that part. I've taken the NLN twice and received 60%s!!
  11. Thanks! Yeah a friend of mine had a 116 NLN, 4.0 prereq and coreq and got in (made alternate list first). Another friend of mines had a 117 NLN, 1 B prereq, all A coreq and got in (made alternate list first as well). They both had CNA certificates attached. The only difference for me is that I have 1 B prereq, 2 B coreq, didn't finish 1 coreq at the time I applied, and a 118 NLN. I also attached my CNA certificate. I spoke with Brian from UH Manoa and he said that I needed to improve on my Verbal & Science percentiles. The NLN is really killing me because I've taken it twice already. I think the same questions I got wrong the first time are the same questions that I got wrong the second time around because I got similar scores the second time around. I'm really thinking of retaking Zoology 240, and at least one of the coreq classes that I received a B from. I also plan to retake the NLN although I really don't know how to study for it since I really am getting similar scores everytime I have taken it so far. At the same time, I do plan to apply for Fall 2012 with the same NLN scores and same GPA/pre req and coreq classes I applied with for Spring 2012. Hopefully the pool of applicants won't be too competitive for Fall 2012? :/
  12. Whoops, I mean I'm trying to get in for Fall 2012...If not, I'll try again for Spring 2013 :/ This is so much reapplying for me, I'm not sure what to do. The NLN is such an issue for me since I passed the 50% but I guess it's not "good enough". Math 80something% Science 60something& Verbal 50something% Composite 118 Prereq for KCC- 1 B , rest are A's Coreq for KCC- 2 B, finishing last coreq this semester Prereq for Manoa- 3 B's, rest are A's
  13. WOW Your scores are really good for the NLN! I really need help studying for that, especially the verbal and science portion. Maybe you can help me ?
  14. Hello! I'm trying to get into Kapiolani Community College ADN program or University of Manoa BSN program. I applied but got denied for Spring 2011. I'm not sure what I should do, but I'm thinking of retaking classes to get those A's. For KCC I did all my prerequisites with 1 B for Anatomy & Lab. As for corequisites I was missing one class (i'm taking it right now) but finished the others all A's except 2 B's (Psychology 100 and Microbiology 130). My composite was a 118. I attached my CNA certificate as work experience as well. As for UH Manoa I had 3 B's for my prerequisites and had a 84%Math, 57%Science, 61%Verbal for the NLN. Since I didn't get in for spring2011, i'm going to retry and apply for Fall 2011. In the meantime, I think I am going to retake Anatomy & Lab during spring 2011 to bring that grade up to an A. I'm thinking of retaking Psychology 100 or Microbiology 130 as well to bring those to an A to help me for KCC's application. Any suggestions??? What should I do? Does anyone know anyone that got into KCC or UH Manoa with similar scores as mines?? If i retake Zoology, Microbiology, and Psych I think my prereq and coreq GPA will rise for KCC and Manoa. But at the same time I'm really wishing to get in for FALL 2011. If not, I will retry for Spring 2012.
