Anyone applied to UF's accelerated BSN?

Published

I applied to UF's Accelerated BSN program for Summer 2009. The application deadline passed 2 weeks ago, and I am anxiously awaiting a reply. I hate waiting! If anyone has been through the program, I was wondering if you remembered when you found out if you got in or not. Is anyone out there also waiting to find out if you got into the program?

Hi Shortstuff1156,

What a nice coincidence!!! I went to the Student Health Center today, and I made an appointment to take the CPR class this weekend! The CPR class will start at 9:00am on Saturday (this class will be held in the Stadium I guess, I can't remember the door number right now). I hope I will see you there.

Take care,

Naime.

Hi All! I will also be attending UF's accelerated program this summer and figured I'd just jump onboard for any updates here. Seems like there's a lot of good info going around! Has anyone received the e-mail from Ken yet? (I have not.)

Looks like I'm the only male posting on this thread so far, haha. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Awesome. We need a few guys.

Anyone over 30????

Haven't seen any other guys yet. Welcome aboard!! No email from Ken yet, but I was able to register for classes on ISIS. I registered for the classes that are listed one the first semester sample curiculum. I figure if they're wrong I can always drop them. I haven't paid yet, though. I'm over 30:bow:

Tina

Yeah Tina!! Mee toooo. :bow::yeah:

I spoke to Hope Beaty, and she said we didn't need to register before the orientation, but Im getting different info on these blogs. Anyone ask Ken this recently??

FYI...

Derrico is AH-MAZING. Go to his review sessions. Use his tutors. All his test Qs for Patho come from the notes, most come from the notes for Comm&HA too, so GO TO CLASS. (This may seem like a no-brainer but you'd be surprised). The first patho test is the worst, but they get easier.

Irving is great too. Super nice. Meet with her during office hours if you have any questions about your grades. Know your APA for her papers and cite cite cite.

Sutton is wonderful in clinicals, but talk to her outside of class to know what's on the tests. And don't expect to get many/any points back. She loves pulling Qs from the assigned readings in the book. Be prepared to learn all about her mother-in-law ;-P

Honestly, I love them all.

The others didn't teach last summer so I don't know anything about them.

Thanks so much MCS you're such a big help. I think I will go with Irving...I'm sure they are all great. one more question, with our schedules, we got a Nursing resource Center schedule for essentials of pro nursing and communication and health assesment, are those required things or just extra help or something? Also, do you know anything about orientation? How long is it? what exactly will we be doing? Thanks again
