I applied to UF's Accelerated BSN program for Summer 2009. The application deadline passed 2 weeks ago, and I am anxiously awaiting a reply. I hate waiting! If anyone has been through the program, I was wondering if you remembered when you found out if you got in or not. Is anyone out there also waiting to find out if you got into the program?
Hi Tina! CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is so awesome, I wondered if the whole petition thing was legit or just something that gives false hope. Really that is so great, I bet you feel like a million bucks right now. anyways...all the paperwork stuff took me only a week to complete, so you've got plenty of time. But make sure you have healthcare CPR not just the regular CPR, I'm not really sure what the difference is, but I guess there is one. I could probably do lunch tomorrow or maybe sometime next week. I will PM you my e-mail and phone number.
Hello everyone!
I got a rejection letter 3 weeks ago... It was an unpleasent experience of reading the rejection letter. I even couldn't sleep last 3 weeks. With all my heart I wanted to be accepted to the program, so it was painful to learn of my rejection. Entrance into this nursing program has been the most important thing on my mind.
There is an appeal process that a rejected applicant can go through that can sometimes result in a reversal of the decision. So, I did the appeal process. I got a phone call beginning of this week. Guess what??? I have been accepted !!! I still cannot believe it.... It is a miracle for me...
It is nice too see all of you here. I am little bit worried about the paperwork. I don't have enough information about CPR course. I live in Gainesville. Has anyone taken this course recently? Could you give me some information about it?
I look forward to meeting all of you :).
Thanks-Naime.
Hi Naime Congrats on getting in! What a great feeling! I know it can seem overwhelming, but the paperwork is not really that much. You can take the CPR course through the UF health center, go to http://www.shcc.ufl.edu/cpr/cpr.shtml and you can see the dates the class is given and just give them a call to sign up (352-392-1161), I think there is one this weekend. good luck!
Hi Marge,
Thank you for the information. I will make an appointment first thing in the morning.
I have something to share: When I got the phone call from Ken, I was taking a nap on the sofa . We spoke briefly, and he said I was in the program. A couple hours after the phone call, I wasn't really sure if I dreamed about it, or if it had really happened! I checked my caller ID; when I saw his number there then I believed that it was true! :wink2: You could tell how happy and suprised I was.
By the way, do you have any information about the books that we need? Maybe we can order early with a good price if anyone has an information?
Take care.
Naime.
Naomi,
Yeah they do e-mail you and you have a date on ISIS as well. Also, the Student Health Center is better than taking it through Red Cross because it will last you 2 years vs 1 year from Red Cross and I think it's a shorter class as well. Also, you are right, I think many of us bought the "box" of books that they offer but rarely used them if even at all. Congrats to all those that got in! We are in our last semester before practicum and it is crazy but this year has really flown by fast! I wish you all good luck as you begin your careers.

Congratulations!
Orientation isn't 'til May 8th, so you've got time yet.
You might want to go ahead and schedule a Healthcare provider CPR class and physical, though, if you want to get the ball rolling on all the fun paperwork. (Although you'll need a form from the packet to be signed for the physical).
Congratulations again! Join the facebook group
! I look forward to meeting you too.
