Anyone applied to UF's accelerated BSN?
Oh gosh! I am still at my parent's house in South Florida. I'll be heading home today. I am so nervous now! I hope I got in! Congrats to all those who got into the program!

Marge, I feel for you! I would be freaking out to if I was going out of town next week. I am heading out of town for a long weekend, so if it comes on Saturday, I won't get it until Monday. I am worried about that one day, so I can understand how you are worried about being gone for the whole week. If we don't get a reply before you leave, do you have a friend who could stop by and check your mail? Maybe that would make you feel better! Again, hopefully we will hear back before then, so you won't even have to worry about it! Do you guys think the possible budget cut will affect the accelerated program for this year? I would think since the application deadline passed before this discussion of budget cuts started, that the BSN (regular and accelerated) is safe for this upcoming year, but who knows? They can't cut a program after people have applied for it and been accepted...right? The CON website if the UF college of nursing website (nursing.ufl.edu). On the homepage, there is an update on the possible budget cuts.

I can't believe decisions haven't gone out yet. Now I think we won't find anything out until next week!

Anyone hear from UCF, FAU or UF ABSN 2009
No letter from UF yet. I was really thinking that today was going to be the day, but, once again, I was disappointed when I opened the mailbox. Hopefully tomorrow!

I didn't think about the fact that they only consider the last 60 credits of your bachelors. If so, mine is a lot better than I originally thought! That makes me feel a little better. To be honest though, everyone that has posted their GPAs and GRE scores seem to be relatively in the same area. I think we all have great chances and hopefully we will all be classmates!!!! Naominurse - If you hear anything from Kenneth Foote, I would appreciate it if you post his response on here. I am very interested to know his response. Thanks! I really have a feeling that we will get letters tomorrow. I hope so!

I hope we are all classmates too! And, yes, I will definitely post on here to let you know if I got in or not. I've been a wreck this past week with the anticipation that a letter would be coming soon. I had heard that they could be mailed out as early as last week, but I wasn't expecting to hear anything until the middle to end of this week. I agree, this wait has taken many years off of my life. I am so scared that I will get a rejection letter. Thankfully, I think our wait is almost over. We've made it this far, so a few more days won't be too difficult :)

The waiting is unbearable!!!!!!
This really is not fair to all of us to have to wait so long! I think they do it on purpose. I applied to an accelerated BSN program and am anxiously awaiting a reply. Even though I know that I won't hear anything until March, my heart still races every time I open my mailbox. I made the decision to go back to school to become a nurse over 1.5 years ago. I was really busy while working full-time and taking my pre-reqs. Now, I am done with my pre-reqs and am still working, but I feel like I have so much free time, which I spend thinking and worrying about whether or not I got into the program. Also, I have been going through all the different stages. Soon after applying, I was excited and hopeful, but now I am going through the denial stage. I keep thinking, "There is no way I am going to get in!" I have been waiting a year and a half to get into the nursing program. Waiting three more weeks should be easy....right? Oh my gosh, I am going crazy!!!

Anyone hear from UCF, FAU or UF ABSN 2009
Did you apply to all three schools? I only applied to UF, and am still awaiting a reply. I have thought about e-mailing the coordinator to see when decisions will be made or when letters will be going out, but I don't want to be a bother. The truth is, I already know that in previous years, applicants received their acceptance letters in the first week of March. So, in reality, I need to just be patient and wait a few more weeks, but that doesn't stop me from being curious!

Anyone applied to the University of Florida's accelerated BSN for summer 2009?
I my gosh! I feel like we've both read all the same stuff and have the same knowledge about the program/applicants. I also thought the applicant pool was some where between 200-250, but I have no idea where I got this info. I also read the article about the VA partnership and the 10 extra spots. I don't think there is any more information out there that we don't already know. Which is sad, because I want to know more! I am from Wisconsin, so my undergrad was done up there. I do live in Gainesville now, and I also only applied to this program. I have no idea what I'll do if I don't get it. Is it bad that I run home after work to check the mail even though I know that a reply will realistically not be here for a few weeks? Ugh, I can't stand it anymore!

I also feel that there is very little information on the program's applicants. I have no idea where my stats fall in regards to other applicants. Sometimes I feel that I have a good chance of getting into the program, yet there are other times that I feel less than average. I struggled with the GRE. I took it three times, and my best score was a 650 in the analytical section, a 520 in the verbal, and a 4.5 in the writing. My GPA from college is a 3.65, and I got a 4.0 in the prerequisite courses. My bachelors is in Biology. I also have worked as a veterinary technician for the past 4 years. I know I read a post on this website from a few years ago that someone who got into the program with GRE scores just above 500 in each section and a GPA above a 3.5 (can't remember exactly what it said). I figured that if this person could get in, then I should get in too...right? I haven't found much more info other than that. I also am curious to know how large the applicant pool is. An earlier post said that 54 students get into the program. I wonder how many that is out of. Then I wonder how the current status of the economy is affecting the applicant pool. Are more people applying to the program with hopes of finding stable jobs? Or, are a lot of people not applying for fear of not being able to pay for school? I get myself thinking about all these things, and then I can't stop. And then I turn into a stressball too! :)

Thanks for your information. 54 students sounds like a small group - now I'm even more nervous! The first time I took the GRE, I didn't do well either. I took it 2 more times and improved, so don't give up! Nonetheless, the GRE is the downfall of my application, so I am scared that it may hurt me as well. I posted a thread in the Florida section like you suggested, so we'll see if we get more hits. Good luck to you also!

Anyone applied to UF's accelerated BSN?
I applied to UF's accelerated BSN program for Summer 2009. The application deadline passed 2 weeks ago, and I am anxiously awaiting a reply. I hate waiting! If anyone has been through the program, I was wondering if you remembered when you found out if you got in or not. Is anyone out there also waiting to find out if you got into the program?

I applied to the University of Florida's accelerated BSN program for summer 2009 and am anxiously awaiting a reply. I know it has only been a week or so since the application deadline passed, but I am going crazy waiting to find out if I got in. Is anyone in the same situation as me? Does anyone know when I should expect to hear a reply, and, if so, how do they let us know (e-mail, regular mail)? Ahhhh, I just want to know now!
