Anyone applied to GWU for anp or fnp fall 2011?

Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone has applied to George Washington University for one of their NP programs. I applied for the ANP program for fall 2011. Applied first of March and still waiting. The anticipation is killing me. Would love to hear from anyone in the same boat as me!

Glad to have someone in the same boat! I don't think we will hear until mid next month. From what I can tell the BSN candidates are just hearing this week and their deadline was Feb 15th. So, based on that, we won't hear until mid next month.

It's a relief to hear from someone that applied. I can't find hardly any threads relating to the MSN tracks at GW. I applied March 8th and my online application status still says: "referred to dept for review", and frankly, I'm pretty tired of looking at that same message, LOL! By what I've read, some people have heard back (mainly for the FNP though). Which track did you apply to? ANP or FNP? Also, when did you apply? Anyways, good luck and keep me posted!

I applied for the ANP track back in early March (although I had some glitches with CAS that dragged it out closer to the deadline than I wanted it to). I also read some people had heard back, even before the end of the deadline, so I'm not sure what I think about that. I guess what will be will be, but it would be nice to know either way. Honestly, I'm not feeling very confident about the whole thing. I know a lot of people have been "inspired" to go back for their NP now before the whole DNP thing kicks in, so the application numbers are up.

Yea, that's exactly how I feel. I also applied to the ANP. CAS dragged mine out too. I would have applied a month earlier if it wasn't for them screwing up my references. I emailed the school after the deadline to see how many applied for the ANP and they stated that 50 ppl applied but wouldn't disclose how many they were going to accept. Not sure what the avg class size is for an online np program. Hopefully 50! Lol. I'm not even worried about it like I was. It Is what it is I suppose. I'll be praying that we both hear good news soon!

Hey all, I applied March 3 and got an email on April 18th with an acceptance. I've heard from a nurse I work with who's currently in the FNP program that her friend heard acceptance in April but she herself did not get the acceptance until May. Talk about frustrating. Congrats on your acceptance!! I know you are very excited! The anticipation is nerve racking! Did you apply to the fnp or anp? Did you interview? And if you don't mind me asking, what was your gpa/years experience? Sorry for the questions, I'm just a tad bit nervous, lol! Congrats again!!

Thank you for the congrats! I've been an Trauma/ER nurse for 4.5 years, my official undergrad GPA was 3.3 but due to repeating a class the effing CAS kicked me down to 3.27. I had issues with CAS as well, I don't know how many times I had to resend references and request transcripts. I only applied to FNP, I did not apply for ANP. I did not interview, one wasn't required. I have no idea what the class sizes are for FNP/ANP, I tried to look that up but never found anything. I'm assuming since this is mostly an online program they would be accepting for a larger class size, but not positive on that. I hope you hear something soon, I was going crazy waiting to hear from them.

Thanks for the info! I'm hoping they have a larger class size as well. My gpa is on the line. So not holding my breath but def doing some praying! Hoping I won't go crazy before I find out. I'll keep ya posted!

Hey everyone! I also applied to GW FNP fall 2011. I also had CAS issues, i lost count of how many transcripts I sent in lol! Finally received the email that my app was under review on April 4! ughh! Haven't heard anything back yet....will keep you updated! Good luck everyone!

Stats: Undergrad GPA 3.4; 2 years nursing experience (1.5 card/tele stepdown; last .5 hiv nurse case management--which i LOVEEE)
