I just got accepted to MCC Boswell priority placement!! I'm super excited!

Anyone else want to share their news?

I'm sooo anxious to recieve more info. Has anyone recieved anything other than their acceptance?

Email must be coming soon then.

2 more weeks of vaca and here it comes! I'm so anxious to dive in.

I still need a stethoscope.

Dang, shouldve put that on my xmas list lol

Me too! It's coming up really fast.. I'm still on edge about my job situation. I know that I'm probably taking on too much but I'm really trying to see what I can do. I have two jobs and I really don't want to let go of either of them. I've given up one of my shifts from my fulltime job leaving me working Tue and Wed from 7p-12a. They are super easy shifts, never too busy and if I don't get called, I get to sit in my office in front of a computer... so I'm thinking I can use it as study/homework time. Then I would just have Fri 7a-5:30p... this shift is usually busier but same thing.. If I'm not busy I'm allowed to do homework. Then my second job is PRN. I'll basically take on whatever shifts I am available for. They aren't very strict, I can say no if I'm not available.. If worst comes to worst, I'll have to leave my prn job. Though I really don't want to.. we'll see.

Everything seems to be pretty much in order. I've paid and registered for the math review course. I also paid a portion of the tuition for the program. I think I'm just going to do the payment plan. I'm going to pay off as much as I can before the semester starts then I'll pay the rest in payments. All that's really left for me to buy are books!

Yeah. Im also doing the payment plan which reminds me I should probably do that soon. Lol

All I'm working is fri,sat,sun.

Hm. youll be fine. I've read stories about students working full time and making it so I'm sure you can do it!

Has anyone bought the pda books yet?

Thank you! I hope so...

I haven't bought the pda books. I just ordered a bunch of books on Amazon. I'm holding off on some of the more expensive ones, hoping I can find better deals. I haven't bought the pda books yet. They're expensive! I'll probably order those pretty soon. Next on my list is a stethescope.

Yeah. When I get back from vaca tomorrow I have to order my stetho soon.

From the other posts ive read, it looks like the grx cd 17 looks like a good one instead of paying an arm and a leg for a littmans

I just ordered a littman from amazon for $41!!!

You can sign up for prime shipping, I signed up for the free trial. It'll get u free 2 day shipping if u sign up as a student. I even used it for a few books that I ordered...

Awesome. Great tip, thanks.

Hey hey!

A little late on the uptake here haha, but I was accepted into the Boswell Priority Placement as well :) Have everything ready to go just gotta get books! So stoked! Nervous but excited as well, have a good support system with all my family and nurses at work excited for me, so hopefully I'll survive haha.

hi everyone!!! cant believe that its almost here yikes! getting excited and nervous... so i think i entered into the wrong forum lol since it was priority placement and everyone works in the health field except me. :( i ordered my bundle of books waiting to pick up next week. i went to pick up scrubs tues. found a good deal on lap top day after xmas. i have not got the pda books yet either. did everyone get all the immunizations all taken care off. have my last one to get tomorrow. do we need a stethoscope soon???

azerogurly, congrats!!!

asacco, you're still part of our class:)

i turned in my health safety form with my application.. she looked it over and didn't say anything. as far as i know everything was up to date.. were you notified of immunizations that you were missing? i'm ordering the last of my books now. its getting soooooo expensive:(

i talked to a friend of mine who recently graduated and she told me that we will be needing a stethescope before clinicals. also that it would be a good idea to buy some nursing shears. i ordered my steth on amazon the other day. i was going to wait until they said something but i figured we will need it and i don't want to wait and have to buy it full price.

Is anyone else annoyed that the nurse pack we paid $144 for is just a bunch of supplies that Im sure I could have struck a deal with my department director for? Lol. So much money for gauze, alcohol, a foley tray, saline flushes, IV start kit, trach suction kit and a central line dressing kit....crazy ridiculous.

Yeah I pretty much felt ripped off.. it would have been great if they would have simply given us a list of the supplies we needed. I would've saved a ton!
