It is ok to release what you feel:heartbeat:heartbeat

If on the K-1 visa, then you have only 90 days once you enter the US to get married.

Since you are going to be getting the green card, you are required to write the NLE if you wish to get licensed in CA. The requirement is not going to be waived for you since you are still a citizen of the Philippines.

CA is not making any exceptions to this rule except in extraordinary circumstances and this is not one that we have seen them issue an exemption for. You are going to either have to remain in the Philippines and write the exam, or return to write it. You have no other choice in this matter.

You will have to meet the requirements of the state of CA. Nothing is going to change that. And this requirement is needed for all that have graduated out of the US, not just specific to those from your country.

Best of luck to you.

now we are processing our AOS, and waiting the immigrations reply, but meanwhile i can't go out US not unless greencard will be release, thanks for the replies...

Since when did CA started to require NLE before taking NCLEX?:heartbeat

Since the beginning of this year Jan 08

A written explanation should be submitted in liue of the local license. I graduated from the Philippines last march 2008 and sent my application as soon as I got back to California (no NLE) and received my eligibility notice after 4 months.

I also called CA BRN to inquire about this new NLE requirement and was told that a written explanation is required if I do not have a license.

Even then doesn't guarantee things. We have seen lots post that they are in the US already and haven't taken NLE and Ca are still asking for it despite submitting a letter. You may have been lucky but we have seen many that are not.

Send your application with a written explanation why you did not take the NLE. Who knows you might be as "lucky" as I am as Silverdragon102 have mentioned in her post. Or better call CA BRN and ask about this new NLE requirement in CA before sending your application just to be sure. The analyst are very accommodating. This is what I've done after reading the threads about this and was informed that a written explanation is required if I do not hold a local license. By the way, I am not a U.S. citizen....

Bigger question would be did you actually receive the license? Just because one gets thru accidentally and gets permission to sit for the exam, remember that the entire is reviewed after the NCLEX exam is passed and all documentation must be provided in there before the license will be issued. And we have not seen one person that has posted that they have received approval to sit for the exam since this new rule went into effect actually get the license issued to them without having the NLE written.

The only ones that are exempt from the requirement of the NLE are those that are American citizens that do not hold dual citizenship in the Philippines and therefore are not legally permitted to write the NLE exam per the Philippine government. As a green card holder, that only means permanent residency, and you still hold a passport from the Philippines, so that does not give you an exemption for the NLE since it can still be legally written.

How about you get married (quickly!), then go back to the Philippines to write the NLE in December (June will be too late, as you only have a year to write it after graduation, I think??), then have your second wedding in front of your family in the Philippines (Boracay is nice that time of year, right?). Go home with your NLE in hand, and then, with the rest of your stuff after marriage (SS#, etc), you should be fine. No letter of explanation necessary as you will have the NLE. Of course, I think it takes some time to actually get the NLE processed, but that is a good excuse to extend your vacation. Well, just an idea.

thanks Calires19, its really a big help for me, thanks for your advise...:)
