I sold a book to eCampus.com back in December and they still have not sent me my check. I've contacted them 4 times already and they keep telling me that they are just overwhelmed with orders and it should be sent to me in 10-12 weeks. They've been telling me this since early March. I'm really frustrated with them that it takes 5 months to send a check for under $20. I just sent a book in to bluerectangle.com last week and my payment has already been put in my paypal account. Has anybody else has problems with eCampus? There's not even anything I can do about it now because they have my book. I went to the BetterBusinessBureau Online but you can't file a claim for being owed money.
Don't hold your breath waiting on that check....
I sold back a book to Ecampus in December, too. Site said my check was issued in January. I emailed and was told the same thing as everyone else. They finally offered to give me 'in-store credit' for what I was owed. I ended up using it to by Saunders Student Nurse Planner. However, I will NEVER use them again and have told them and lots of other people the same thing. I will stick with ebay.
Sorry for your inconvenience - I feel your pain!
Well, I still have not received my check that they say they mailed May 19. So here's the most recent e-mail I sent to them
I have still not received my check. At this point, I want to hear from someone in management. I sent this book in on December 15, 2005. 6 months later I still have not received payment. This service is unacceptable. The total for my buyback is only $6, but I know many other students who are waiting for over $100-200. Students sell our books back because we need the money.
The following is copied from my previous correspondance:
I recently did a transaction with one of your competitors. I sent the book to them, and within 7 days my payment was already in my bank account. That is the kind of service I expected from you, considering your company is bigger and more well-known than most others. So please tell me, when can I actually expect this payment that has supposedly already been issued? I'm not usually sarcastic and hostile
about transactions, but I don't like being strung along for 6 months.
I expect to hear from someone in a management position soon.

They are NOT keeping my money and I am NOT using any in-store-credit from them.
Is Blue Rectangle pretty reputable? This is the first i've heard of them.
I hadn't ever heard of them before I sold this book, but I was very impressed with the speed of payment - they deposit the money in a paypal account, and within 1 week it was in that account and I transferred it to my checking account.
okay, this is my last post of the night about this company, but i found out you can file a better business bureau complaint against ecampus, and i think all of us who have had problems should file one. here is what their file from bbb reads:

wow, that's a pretty impressive crappy record they've got there!
okay, at this point nobody cares about this but me and i'm starting to become a little obsessed about this because it makes me mad, but here's what their reply was:
last time they said they had mailed it on 5-22. i don't think they know what they're doing!
I had a similar problem with eCampus last year. It took a formal complaint to the BBB and local newspaper help line to finally get this company to pay me for my books.
I would NOT recommend that anyone use this company. Based on my experience, check out the company's BBB record before sending them your overpriced books.

If you have books to sell back, try out http://bluerectangle.com
I sent the book in last week, they sent payment to my PayPal account on Tuesday, and I transferred the money to my checking account, which got there today. In 1 weeks time I had the money for my book! They paid more than anybody else for the book, too!
