Hi, I was told by an acquaintance that interview invitations for spring 2011 BSN will handed out by september 20th.
THis does seem kind of early, but I haven't heard back from CSULB at all and so I was wondering when the interviews are. The CSULB lady has been very busy and hasn't gotten back to me.
Does anybody know if interview invitations have already been handed out for fall 2010 admissions?
Thanks!!!!
Hey it's me!
She's still in the running. I didn't receive any email notifications either, so I went to the nursing department and talked to the admissions coordinator. She can pull out your friend's file and see where she stands.
But yes, she did not received an email because she passed the interview.
I was wondering how CSULB nursing factored in repeated courses?
When I went on to the website, it says, "repeated courses will treated per the CSULB policy (catalog) and then went to look at the catalog--nothing regarding transfer grades/calculations.
I am worried becuase I took a class that was basically chem without the lab, then I took chem WITH the lab again. Technically they aren't the same course and shouldn't be counted, but admissions might be busy and automatically assume it's the same course.
Do repeats count against you?
I'm sorry, I have no idea about transfer repeats.
I just know that for CSULB students, a first repeat will substitue the previous non-passing grade.
Since you took the wrong chem class, i don't think it'll affect you because you took the right chem class later on. They count the equivalent chem class to the approved CSULB chem pre-req.
If anything, maybe you should calculate your nursing score and see what you have out of 10. The nursing coordinator sends out a GPA worksheet with your pre-reqs, TEAS, and score (for your records) after the announcement of admitted students into the program via email. If the score you calculated isn't the same as the one on the GPA worksheet, then maybe they used your chem class without the lab.
Hi aznbc 105,
can you please help me here, I am a transfer student,
can you please tell me the GPA and the teas scores you had. I am so stressed, I am applying now for Fall 2011. I want to see if I have a chance or I am compatible. I Have 4.0 g.p.a for sci, and around 3.7 for GE....I haven't taken the teas yet..which version of study manual did you use/recommend to study for teas?
sorry I have so many questions, just one last one: for instance, since i have cumulative gpa of 3.5, what happens if university rejects me because my gpa is low and nursing school accepts me?
Hmm I just have a 3.53 for sciences, 3.75 for foundation classes, and 90% on TEAS. I wished I did better for sciences... then maybe I would've gotten in for Fall, but I took them all at CSULB which is harder than community college.
I just bought the TEAS pre-test study manual 3.0. You can take the TEAS more than once. I think you need to take it first to get a feel for it, then you'll know what to expect the next time.
Nursing school won't accept you until the university does. So university accepts you first, and then the nursing program may accept you if you're scores are competitive enough. I believe this goes for all schools.
Hope this helps you!

Becka, I was just speaking to this girl in my lab and she applied for spring 2011 (was accepted fall 2010, but her mom became sick and she didn't go) and so of course she passed her interview. However, she hasn't heard back from CSULB nursing about whether or not she was in the running (and she can't find out through being handed interviews b/c she already passed hers last year). So she called and they did recieve her application.
I was wondering since you passed your interview last year, if you recieved any notification if you were still in the running towards the nursing program spring 2011?
She told me her score, i believe it's 9.2. If she didn't get any notification it could mean that she's not in the running and they are only taking 9.2?
