Did you download the javachat? It should take about a minute and then popup a yellow box. You put a nickname there and when you connect you should be in the chatroom
did all that, get to the yellow screen, type in my nickname, and then it goes to the chat screen, but, always says, o people, and when I try to type something, it tells me to type "join channel and some numbers, so I do that, then nothing. How frustrating

I went through my C: drive and deleted a buncha stuff, and now, it appears, I can not join you all. When ever I try to load the chat, it stops. I'll miss you :-)
Well my hard disk crashed last Friday. Then my hubby said I could have the second hard drive in HIS computer, so I did that. Then the "new" hard drive wouldn't recognise my modem. Then it decided it wouldn't recognise my DSL ethernet card. THEN is when I gave up Wednesday and took the computer to the "doctor" and the doctor said:.....
You can't DO that!! So right now I am typing this on a 1995 HP 75mHz Pentium I with a hopping BIG modem (14.4)!!
It's not fast enough to chat, but it will let me send stuff from her verrrrrryyyyyy slooooooowly!
So my "new" 1800 Celeron 80 gig Hard drive with double RAM (the WILL use the same case)will be ready next wednesday. Then and only then.....oh well.....and Mary, I am NOT addicted....*I* am DEDICATED to chat.

P_RN,
I hope you relize that your big new 'puter will be obsolete on Tuesday. The day before you get it back. It's going to be twice as big and bad as mine, but the way they are getting these things into the new technology, - WHEW! you just can't keep up. - Oh well. Good luck!

Ken,
I still have a Commodore Vic-20 that at the time was THE BOMB! It has FOUR...count 'em FOUR meg of RAM and an audiotape player for the memory. Totally in Basic. Now it's not even useful as a boat anchor.
We also have an IBM pc jr. a 286 by Scott (An Emerson clone) ,another P I across the room under the table, this HP P/I 75 mHz, hubby's Athelon w/ the "other HD-that I didn't steal."
The whole upgrade-remake is supposed to cost $399. The last 3 'puters we've had were made by this same guy at Softek. They're all mucho better than the "store bought ones."
Anyway I'm betting it will be out of date by Monday, not Tuesday!
And Dennie I am NOT in withdrawal.......reeeeeeaaaaalllllly NOT.......
