I am applying for the Accelerated Nursing BSN program at UTHSCSA starting May 2016. I just applied through NursingCAS, taking the TEAS V in November & hoping there are others out here doing the same! We can give each other some support and get through this process together, I haven't seen any other threads yet.....!
Hi all,
I'm applying for this program with you. I submitted my information on the 14th, I procrastinated and have yet to hear back from them on whether or not they received everything.
Does anyone have any idea when we might hear something as far as acceptances go?
Also, does anyone have any ideas on what the class schedule is like? Are students there every day of the week?
Thanks,
Stephen
SASewell, if you go to this link The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio it kind of gives you an idea of the semesters and it looks really tough. The email confirmation I got from the school after they received my application says we will know by Feb. 1, but with your GPA and TEAS score you shouldn't be too worried! Good luck to everyone, here's hoping January goes by quickly.

Hi Stephen! You'll be there pretty much every day for first semester. Two days a week will be longer days (for our ABSN class's summer semester, it was something like one day from 8am-3pm and another day from 9am-3pm with 12-1pm for lunch) and then the rest of the week will be half days for sim lab. If they keep the schedule about the same as ours was, you won't go to clinical until the end of the first semester. We didn't know our sim lab times until right before orientation, which was kind of frustrating planning wise, and we didn't have a choice as to clinical locations. If you have a scheduling conflict due to work, family, etc. they'll work with you to try to get you switched with someone else. Hope that helps!
I'm caught up on immunizations and waiting to see if I get accepted first as well. That said, I don't think that I'll need anything, at least I hope. We should know something in less than two weeks, good luck to everyone. I'm the type of person that wanted to know something the day after I submitted my application so I'm getting kind of nervous.
