Any UTHSCSA Accelerated BSN 2016 hopefuls that have started the application process?

I am applying for the Accelerated Nursing BSN program at UTHSCSA starting May 2016. I just applied through NursingCAS, taking the TEAS V in November & hoping there are others out here doing the same! We can give each other some support and get through this process together, I haven't seen any other threads yet.....!

I am also applying for the accelerated program starting May 2016! I haven't been able to find any other threads, have you?

No, I haven't found any other threads either. I just applied a couple of weeks ago, and NursingCAS is making me nervous already! Half the time I try to sign in the login page doesn't work, and I've read about some other programs having to extend their deadlines because of issues with them. I really wish UTHSCSA didn't use them! Have you applied and/or taken your TEAS yet? What do you have a degree in already?

Yeah I have noticed that NursingCAS is very slow and doesn't always work. I am in the process of applying and I will be taking the TEAS soon. My bachelor's degree is Exercise and Wellness, what is yours?

My first BA was in Criminal Justice and Police Administration, but I definitely preferred the science classes that I took for pre-Nursing. So much more interesting!

I'm about to apply for the same program too! I think I'm pulling it too close though, with my TEAS in mid-November and haven't even started the NursingCAS application. If I can't make it in time, I may try for Fall Traditional (but I really don't want to spend 2 years on this 2nd degree...) or go to TAMUCC for their accelerated program that starts next Fall. My first degree was public health! I'm so glad someone made this!

You may be ok, I had 5 transcripts and they all arrived within 2 weeks! I would just get it done ASAP and if they don't get everything in 2 weeks maybe request the transcripts again to make sure they get them. I think verification takes longer, but I'm under the impression as long as they get all materials by the due date you'll be ok. I'm taking the TEAS in November and haven't had much time to study due to work so that makes me nervous! If I don't get in I'll try for the traditional program too, but I agree with you about the time investment. Fingers are crossed!!

Hello,

I am also applying for the accelerated bsn for summer 2016. NursingCAS is a pain, but hopefully I did everything correctly.

I'm currently in the UTHSCSA ABSN program. There's a couple of us on here if you guys have any questions as you go through the application and registration process. May take us a few days to reply, but we'll check back when we can. :)

Hello, I am also applying for Summer 2016 at UTHSCSA. I take my TEAS in two weeks and will have completed all prereqs by DEC 10th. Is there anyone else in this situation? Am I cutting it too close to the DEC 15th deadline? Thank you!

So, I took my TEAS on Friday after barely having time to study. I was worried about the Math section, then ended up struggling more with the Science section and kicking myself because I feel like they were things I should have known. I was also under the impression you could take a break between sections, but you can't! The good news is I didn't run out of time in any of the sections. Have to wait to get my results until after the weekend. Fingers are crossed!! Anyone else take the TEAS recently?

NursingCAS finished verifying all of my transcripts as well, so the whole process with them took about 5 weeks.

Good luck to everyone else!

I don't take my TEAS until Dec. 1. I believe TEAS sends scores electronically, and as long as it was taken before the deadline you are good.
