Any UCSF Mepn Applicants?

Hi everyone--

Has anyone else out there applied to the UCSF MEPN program? They're supposed to send out letters this month (December) for the interview process. Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Will those that aren't asked to the interview process get a rejection letter now?

Hey Sammypi...

It's so weirrrrrrrrrrrrrd. I was #3! Last year I was #2 and didn't get in!

I got an email saying:

"You have indicated that you would be willing to stand as an alternate for the ACHIN specialty. A slot has opened up, and we would like to invite you to join the MEPN 2009 cohort. Please respond as soon as possible, as we need to have a final list of admitted students by the end of the week."

Thank God! It pays to keep at it!:yeah:

I wonder if you snatched the spot from #1 and #2 because you replied the quickest? Doubt it, but you never know.

Well I doubt it because I was in Trinidad when my letter came. So a few days went by before I checked my mail...Alternates were notified by snail mail not email. But you never know!

Thank you so much for all the helpful information... this is my first post as I had a bit of drama with my acceptance letter and have been living overseas so felt a bit out of the loop with starting this program and your postings have been really nice to read. So thanks!
