Hi everyone--
Has anyone else out there applied to the UCSF MEPN program? They're supposed to send out letters this month (December) for the interview process. Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Will those that aren't asked to the interview process get a rejection letter now?
Crossing my fingers...!
Fingers absolutely crossed for you too Bizzles, thanks! (Also for prospective z!) Here's to all those who happily choose another school so there's a spot for us alternates at UCSF!
Thanks also to ChickenLL, jaxnaud and others for the empathy and good wishes. And hurrah Nat3433!
I've had all my eggs in the MEPN basket for two years now, since I don't want to leave the Bay Area either and haven't been able to take time off work to take the boatload of additional pre-reqs for USF or Samuel Merritt. One class at a time = a long time!
As a warning to fellow alternates, last year I tried to see if they'd give me any feedback on my application, but they said since I wasn't officially rejected they couldn't. When I was rejected in June, they still said they couldn't review it, so I'll likely never know what keeps me hovering around acceptance instead of landing on it.
Hey everyone!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU! I got accepted too! YEAH!!! What specialty tracks have you all been admitted for? I interviewed on Jan 19th for the FNP track. I can't wait to move to the city and start school. I have been living in Berkeley for a while now and I am so ready for a change!
And to those of you that are alternates...GOOD LUCK! Im sure that some people will be turning down UCSF for another school, like Yale or Columbia, especially if they are already on the east coast. You just never know. Please keep us posted ok?? And remember what Dr. Ziehm said...let's try and all send in our decision as soon as possible to help out those alternates! I know for some people that may be hard though, but for those of us that already know, let's send them in soon!
And I would love to meet up for happy hour! And for those who don't drink alcohol, a soda or virgin daquiri could always work right? Does that work for everyone? I say instead of right at 5:00pm let's give everyone a chance to get off work and get in to the city and stuff..so maybe between 5:30 and 6:00 or something? It will be great to meet all of you!

What's up everyone? I've been lurking here for a while but decided to post upon hearing that I got into UCSF's MEPN program in the CNS Critical Care/Trauma Specialty. I'm really excited and want to extend congrats to all of you that got in. That was crazy competitive though, right? Sheesh. The acceptance letter, also, was a little bit thin, so that kind of freaked me out too. I can't wait to get started and meet all of you.
I also want to encourage folks who may not have gotten the letter they wanted to keep on trucking--if this is meant for you then you're gonna make it happen, no matter what.
Take care everyone and I look forward to meeting you all.
Now I just need to decide if I am gonna finish Micro, Speech, and Nutrition or get back to working full time. Hmmmmmmmmm.
5:30 or 6 sounds great- we just need a place. I figured a pub that served food would be accomodating to non-drinkers and those of us who love a beer on a Friday evening :-)
I'm not sure if anyone is collecting email addresses out there, but maybe we should start? If somone has a couple already just email me directly and I can add mine to the list.

Hey there!
Thanks Jaxnaud:
I am collecting emails - I have some from people I already met, and I just sent private messages to a number of folks on this forum.
I figure it will be helpful to pool information - about scholarships, financial aide, and for alternates - if any of us know for sure of people who will not be attending UCSF, who have been admitted, I am sure that information would be quite helpful to alternates who have posted on here.
At any rate, anybody and everybody, feel free to send me your info, and I'll create a list for us to use to share info.
Congradulations and good luck to everyone!

Hello Everyone,
I just found this website the other day and wanted to stop by and say hi. I was also accepted to UCSF's MEPN program for their Pediatric NP track. Anyone else in that specialty?
I am a SF native but I'm currently living in LA so I am really excited about relocating back to the Bay Area. But I guess the next step for me is to think about how to pay for this first year of school. Have any of you applied for outside scholarships? There seems to be a lot of resources online but it still is overwhelming.
Well, hope to meet you all in June!
I too have been lurking, and wanted to pitch in. I was accepted for the midwifery track and am very excited! Also very nervous about figuring out the financial situation and finding a place to live. I would love to be part of an email list to chat about the nitty gritty.
Congratulations to everyone that got in, and don't give up to the rest. I applied two years ago and didn't get an interview, but then pursued volunteer work in the field. I think that was the key this time around.

I almost cried yesterday when I saw everyone's acceptances, but thankfully I made it to the mailbox and got some good news today. A get together sounds like a great way to relax and meet people after all the stress we've endured!
Blair, I'm also in the Acute Care NP track, but interviewed Jan. 19. Looks like we'll be seeing a lot of each other! :)
Congrats to all those accepted and best of luck to those still waiting to hear good news.
