Published

Hi there... I'm a newly grad BSN here in the Philippines and still waiting for the result of the board exam... i wanted to attend trainings for IV therapy, BLS, etc.. if you have infos regarding trainings or institutions conducting trainings of such here in the Philippines, please reply...

thanks so much!

Exactly, any training in your country will be valid for your country only, and the certificates are not valid anywhere else. That is why we keep telling you to save your money.

ummm...i have a sneaking suspicion that some, if not a lot, of these certificates are not valid anywhere at all, even in the philippines.

especially the ones which are supposedly issued by us organizations.

just a sneaking suspicion.

some of my friends found out the hard way though.

i would suggest, for those in the philippines, to listen to the people who are sharing their experiences from the us.

Most are not even worth the paper that they are printed on.

And for some additional information:

The American Heart Association no longer has reciprocity with the American Red Cross as far as classes that are held. We are seeing facilities no longer accept the cards from the American Red Cross and this is from courses done in the US, so done in your country: not going to happen.

I have taken several of these certificate trainings here in the Philippines. I should say that It helped me a lot in gaining confidence in my clinical skills especially in a more advanced areas like critical care units. Yes, I do agree that these certificates may only be valid here in the Philippines but these are still useful trainings especially for the beginners. One more thing, these advance nursing skills are not taught in our schools right? So you might as well spend few bucks learning those in certificate trainings and seminars. I would recommend CCNAPI (located in PHC) and our local hospitals who offer these trainings. Good luck !

i am fully aware of what the moderators are pointing out but i opt to provide the other side of the story.

these certificates (IVT, BLS, etc..) may not be needed when you are already "working" in the foreign land but in order to cross the path to greener pastures, you are still to be subjected to the dealings here in our country (Philippines). i mean, as most of them already stated, you'll be needing some experience (minimum of 2 years as they say), before you can land a job abroad. and with regards to such, I would like to inform you that most hospitals (especially those which are prominent firms of this country) are requiring nurses to have such certificates as requirements before you may be able to get in their firm. so needless to say, in one way or the other, you may still be needing those certificates. and if the institution may not include such in their requirements, i believe that having trainings of such kind would facilitate the screening of your papers for employment. but i am not limiting the ease on the screening to these facts. and also you may use such trainings to care for clients competently while working in our country. pls do consider our fellowmen also when trying to weigh choices in any decisions that you may face. the knowledge and skills gained from such trainings may not be acknowledged in foreign countries but these trainings matter in this country of ours.

ok at of this point in time, you may be worrisome because there will come a time that these papers wouldn't be of use to you when you are applying to work abroad but then taking this issue aside, i would like to point out that having such training whether or not they would be useful in the foreign lands would be also be helpful to you. take things slowly. delve on the issue at the slower pace and considering also the grounds here in our country.

just think about the money allotted to these trainings as an investment. there may not be certainty with any investments that you may be opting to have but then in the end of the line, you will be enlightened that you were harvesting the feeds after long days of mowing.

keep safe! be well!
