I have a tough time trying to answer questions on prioritization, like which pt would you see FIRST?
And I also have a hard time answering questions asking who I should delegate tasks to. For example, which pt I should assign a UAP to or an LPN/LVN to.
Any tips or ways to better answer these questions?
I looked at the book "Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment" but, it just has questions.
Thanks in advance! :)

I had the same reaction as you did when I first got the book. Just go through the PDA book ... you will learn priority, delegration, and assignment if you do the questions and read the rationales ... promise.

Use ABCs to determine who to see first. Always assign a stable client to LPNs and aides. RN can't delegate teaching assessment or discharge. LPNs can auscultate.

Practicing those questions is what will help you understand and learn who you see first and what you can delegate to an LPN or CNA. the book has rationales to explain why an answer was right or wrong.....Thats the best book that will help you understand what you need. all the best
