Any Tips on Obtaining Schedule 2 when MD. don't want to be bothered

I have a new MD on board who doesn't want to be bothered with the late calls - that type-

Any tricks on how to obtain schedule 2 quick ASAP after receiving Tel. order. I have heard someone

mention before of adding the Md's tel # to the order so Pharmacy contact them directly.

What's do you think?

Sic Pharmacy on them. I work in LTC, so there's no pharmacy on site, but doctors who blow off nurses will usually listen to the pharmacy. If I need a narc refill, I tell pharmacy, and they take care of it.

Is this for a new order ? I wouldnt care what time of the day it was, the MD is managing care of the patient,and nurses are supposed to be advocates for their patients.

Get your DON and medical director involved. If it is for a reorder, don't wait for the last minute.

I would make a stink with the DON and medical director, unless of course the obnoxious doc IS the medical director....then you're in trouble.
