Any tips for an interview withe Da Vita

Published

Hi everyone, I'm happy to say I have an interview with Da Vita this upcoming week the FA. Any tips on how to approach disclosing my monitoring program? Should I bring a copy of it with me? I want to be open & honest, but yet tactful at the same time. Also, this may be a silly question but are any controlled substances given at Da Vita?

Thanks & any input would be appreciated. :)

First good luck to you! Now, I can only speak on my own experiences. After two horrible interviews, I decided to sell myself first, i.e. talk about my experiences, what I can bring, etc.; all but my monitoring program. After I sense the interview is about to end, two things happen here. Either they give me an offer or they'll state we'll contact you sometime this week. I was prepared for these two scenarios, because that's when I was going to say something. Like, "I have made some poor choices recently and I come with some restrictions in my practice. I am not proud of them, but I'm willing to pay for these consequences..."

You can add on to this. I got the call four days later and I got hired. In short, I wanted them to see and hear from me first before my "baggage" is revealed. Honestly, it is tough. The first two interviews I could not stomach and had a panic attack driving home. Reached out to others. Got good suggestions and just pushed through. Fortunately, it worked out, but I believe that third interview revealed some confidence seen by the interviewers.

Good luck again. DaVita as far as I know is a dialysis company. The primary nurse will be giving meds, not you. You monitoring program, I believe, will approve you for that job description. BTW, this all happened 2008. I am never going back to the way it was. I love my routine, predictable, boring life! I love boring now! Wish you the best Willow14

Hi and thank you for your reply! I have had a few interviews and have disclosed my participation in my monitoring program, but I was very nervous and I'm sure that doesn't help.....I totally agree that "getting" a job that is willing to accept our "baggage" is all in the delivery of the information....something I need to work on soon because my interview is tomorrow:)

Thanks again for your advice.....it gives me some hope !

Dialysis is very recover-friendly. I'm an APRN at both Fresenius and Davita and have had nurses come to me stating they can't "handle" narcotic Rx's - so I always take care of all my own narcotic scripts so as not to embarrass anyone.

There are no controlled substances in an outpt dialysis unit.

Good luck to you tomorrow on your interview and please let us know how it goes!

Ok, so I survived the interview a few days ago and it went fairly well. I waited until the end of the interview to disclose my participation in my state's monitoring program and all they said was ( There were 2 people interviewing me) "Thank you for being up front and honest with us. We don't give any narcotics here." They didn't ask any questions about it. Also they mentioned that it would not hinder my chances for the job. Sooo...here's to keeping my fingers crossed:) They did tell me that they had other interviews and that they wouldn't be making any decisions til next week. So I did my best, was honest and also sent a solid thank you email for the interview. ....now it's in God's hands.....and I am completely ok with that :) If it's meant to be then it will happen.

Hi! So were you hired?? I have applied to davita and was wondering how long it took before they contacted you for an interview. And what type of questions were you asked? Thanks!
