Seriously though, where are you living right now? Are you saying that where you currently live is "hell"? Yuma, in my opinion would be moving TO hell from here in Phoenix. Im not sure what sparked your interest in Yuma, and I am really not trying to be rude! It is desolate, small town, dirty and boring in my opinion. Sorry if I offened anyone that likes living there! For cheap dental work, I would never consider it a trade off. (hope I wasn't too harsh)

Have I ever been there? A few times, nothing lengthy. August any worse in Yuma than in Mohave County? I doubt it. I've seen 130's here and the mid-120's pretty much run mid-June to mid-August.Ayrman
Ok, now you are gonna have to spill the beans on Mohave County! You must live around Bullhead City, right? I have always thought Kingman might be a good place to live.
I think in a few years I am going to escape the city, (Phx). I grew up here in the early 60s and this is not the Phoenix I know anymore. :trout: So much air pollution it is disgusting, horrible traffic, too many people, city too large.....
I have a strong urge to move to the Verde Valley :monkeydance:
Hello
you might want to try this website:
and click on Arizona. There a few posts on Yuma, Arizona! I lived there for three years and bitched and moaned the whole time ( I was raised in the mid-west) about the hot ass summer! Luckily we did have a pool and that was great! Yuma is a small town, but is really growing. They don't have a big nightlife scene since it's a smaller town, but a lot of people like to go boating on the Colorado river and going quading is huge here. I hated living there but now we live in Maine and the snow won't go away. It's funny...maybe I got to used to the sun because now I miss it!!!
Good luck on whatever you decide!

Does anyone have experience with the hospital in Yuma, especially seasonal employment? My current contract - 2 year M-S - ends in August and I'm thinking a move away from hell might be in order.
Yuma has certain attraction because of the close proximity to Algodones and inexpensive dental care. Currently exploring some long-term options that will require several trips over a few months and driving several hours each way is a drag. A seasonal arrangement might fit the bill while the wife and I decide on longer term plans and get some other things out of the way.
