hey I was hoping to get conversation going about the upcoming swboces 2016 LPN program for people that are eitheir applying, been accepted, even past students.... I feel this will keep us all together on program information. I have seen it done for previous years but I can't seem to link with anyone about the 2016 program...I was accepted into the program for this year, looking forward to starting.
You're right about that Jackcast, support from fellow students can definitely be resourceful....and even thought we are in different groups (day/night), it will still be supportive to check in and give tips, advice, Etc. to each other because the programs going to be intense fro both groups so the more resources the better.
I feel like they're somewhat small. I remember them saying it at the information session but I completely forgot. I also hope I'm not the youngest in the class. I doubt I will be, but I really hope not. I also hope I get s good site for clinicals.
Why do you not want to be the youngest on the class? I'm sure that age isn't an issue, everyone there all share the same goal of becoming a nurse, I'm sure your age is fine....it's mostly mentality and determination that will matter more so than age.
There are 3 book packages to purchase, containing about 3 books each. So maybe 9-10 books total. Yes, we have to define a few pages of words and memorize them. There will be a quiz at orientation. Also, we have a test the second week of school on some A&P stuff. They gave the pages and review questions. There is no dress code, just any color scrubs.

Well for one I did hear that there are two classes for each program (day&evening). But as far as being nervous I am also but I think we're all taking the right steps into preparing ourselves for the program and believe we will all be just fine. Number one key I was told by a fellow nurse friend is to always be two steps ahead to make this journey an easier one. Let's just keep in touch with one another and keep each other posted along with the support of classmates and we can all get through this together!
