Is there anyone starting NS in the Fall of 2008 with me?
Pennyslvania here. Me too! I am done with the pre reqs. so all I have to do are the nursing classes, but I need to work full time also so I am going to NS nights and weekends. I am what I call a Sr. Student, (48 yrs young) I am so excited, this is a whole new area for me, took my CPR class last night and it becoming more and more real. OMG!
I've got a book on order for "Test Success: Test-Taking Techniques for Beginning Nursing Students 4th Edition". I've taken all my prereq's already so thankfully all I have to focus on is the real nursing classes. I am taking Statistics this summer as a prereq to my BS.
That is a really good book by the way!
I bought is last semester and it was worth the $$.
I just got my letter yesterday and started on all of my paperwork today. The only thing I have left is to have my TB test read on Saturday. We have orientation on the 3rd of June and begin class September 2nd. I don't know yet anything certain about the hours, but from what I hear it's either Mon - Thur or Tues - Friday. I don't know if we get to choose or not. I can't wait until orientation to find out more!
Congrats to all of us fall newbies!
I thought I'd jump in here and join you all. I start Aug 25th at OU for the traditional BSN track. I'm a little older (will be almost 32 when classes start) and have a hubby and two kids (boy, 6 and girl, 3) so I'm a bit nervous to see how going to school full time will affect us.
We already had one orientation a week after acceptance letters were sent and then we have another one in the beginning of Aug.
Good luck to all of us!

i live in sc. i am starting in fall of 2008!!! so excited. i am a little concerned b/c i am married and have a 3 year old. we start on aug 18. our clinicals are 7-11:30am thursdays and fridays, but the days change every 5 weeks. (start of new class) at my school each nursing class lasts 5 weeks. so it is only 3 courses a semester.
i am taking micro and statistics over the summer, but at least i get about 18 days off before nursing courses start.:nuke:
Congratulations Everyone!!! I remember how excited I was when I got my letter of acceptance. I would like to say to you all, study hard but still try to spend time with your family. Correlate your subject by using a nclex rn review book. Your first course is fundamentals. Start answering questions on the saunders nclex rn on fundamentals. Learn to answer nclex style questions early.
Good Luck to everyone.
God Bless!
