First off... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! You rock!
so very exciting to have passed the hurdle of acceptance!
I had a question for you...do you know what a typical schedule is like? I am looking to apply for fall and trying to look into preschools and daycares for my son while I am in class. Any idea what the hours on campus and in clinicals look like?
The schedule is pretty tight. My first semester I'll go everyday, but Thursday and Saturday. There is one class on Friday and it alternates between online and class format. My clinicals will be on Monday, so you'll have go to hospital the day before and research your patient.
I was looking at the blocks and I believe only the first semester is set up like this and the rest are 12hr shifts for clinicals and/or two 6hr days.
Hey fellow classmate! I'm not sure, but I know we will be there a lot. I'd be willing to bet every other, if not every Sunday. And going in to research the patient continues on after the first semester and may even be more frequent as the semesters come.
Which block are you choosing? I want to go to Wishard!
I was thinking about that block too - any block where I don't go in on Thursday would be fine by me. I wouldn't mind going in to research the patient so much if it didn't involve a special trip up there just for that....hopefully in future semesters that can be accomplished on a school day....
Yeah as time goes by, we"ll actually be at the hospital twice a week and I believe we may be doing some research the day before along with our other classes. It's going to be an intense program. But I definitely understand you wanting it to be a school day. It just makes sense if you're already on campus. Have you started purchasing any books and/or supplies?
