I am excited to start the CP classes in Aug! Do you think I will be able to do a 12 credit fall semester at TCC still? Would probably all have to be online or night classes. Is there a ton of homework and study time needed?

I took 6 credits...online and managed to do it while holding down a full time job at night. I think it could be done. There isn't a ton of homework but there are like 4 tests in the first few weeks. I remember thinking I could have taken more classes. The course wasn't as intense as I thought it would be. It is alot of information in a short period of time but if you have background in the medical field already it should be a breeze for you. All of the CP homework was online and the tests too. So I would say if you do take 12 credits at TCC too you will have to go at night or do them online.

What kind of shifts were you offered? I am supposed to start class in Aug, but I am worried the job hours wont work with my family. Do you keep in contact with any CP's from your class?

...and are you able to take the phlebotomy certification exam in VA with the CP training? I know we cant take the CNA test.

I was offered 7Am to 7Pm. I think it depends on which hospital and which unit you work on. They all seem so different. I am friends on facebook with my other classmates and that's how I keep in touch.

I am not sure about taking the phlebotomy exam?! That's a good question. I would like to know as well....I have also been drawing a lot of labs now that I am working.

Do care partners get a shift differential for overnights? If so, how much is it?

where are you taking the course? I took mine at Sentara College of Health Sciences. The class was 4 days a week but was very straight forward. I think if you are willing to take on the extra course work, you should be able to handle it!

Hi .. I'm wondering if you guys applied online for the care partner job. and what documents did you attach with your application?. I'd really appreciate the information. I've tried applying online and I got 'incomplete applicAtion' as my status. Thanks =D

I think I just attached a cover letter and resume.

I'm starting next month (28 April) and I'm excited and nervous. How soon do clinicals start,which hospitals do they tend to have them, and how was the experience?
