  1. I was offered 7Am to 7Pm. I think it depends on which hospital and which unit you work on. They all seem so different. I am friends on facebook with my other classmates and that's how I keep in touch. I am not sure about taking the phlebotomy exam?! That's a good question. I would like to know as well....I have also been drawing a lot of labs now that I am working.
  2. I took 6 credits...online and managed to do it while holding down a full time job at night. I think it could be done. There isn't a ton of homework but there are like 4 tests in the first few weeks. I remember thinking I could have taken more classes. The course wasn't as intense as I thought it would be. It is alot of information in a short period of time but if you have background in the medical field already it should be a breeze for you. All of the CP homework was online and the tests too. So I would say if you do take 12 credits at TCC too you will have to go at night or do them online.
  3. They didn't ask me any scenario questions...but yours might.I guess maybe just be prepared just in case. The recruiter did ask me a few though but none on my actual interview. I do like what I do. Some days are crazy busy and others not so much. I enjoy helping the patients have the most positive experience they can while in the hospital. I do know care partners are in HIGH demand so don't be suprised if you end up with both job offers and have to pick which one you want.!!!
  4. Congrats on your interview! Mine was pretty straight forward. The boss just asked me about my strengths and weaknesses and a few questions about my previous jobs and what I did. I had also just graduated the care partner course so she asked about that too. It was mostly basic interview stuff though. I hope yours goes well!!!
  5. I work 12 hours shifts, 3 days a week from 7am till 7pm. I work on a med-surg floor so my day is busy!! The time really flies by. Most of my day is spent getting vital signs and cleaning up patients. (We have a lot of patients who are incontinent.) I do other things like draw blood, take out catheters and IV's, but the majority is just keeping up with the call bells. The work load is intense but I love it. I am hoping to get into nursing school once I get all my pre-reqs done. I am hoping to gain alot of experience working as a care partner!! Let me know if you have any more questions!
  6. Well...the pay is kinda crappy at only 10.23 and hour but the benefits of working for Sentara are awesome! I got a job right away. They pretty much help you with out with that.
  7. I am currently working as a Care Partner! I finished the course in Jan. Let me know if you have any questions!
