I am still pre-nursing, but I am looking for colleges to apply to. I really want to go to UIC, but I will apply to others in case I don't get in. How did you like Saint Xavier? It isn't too far from my house, so I wouldn't have problems getting there. Thanks ?

Hi Prinsessa,
From what I hear you may have an easier and quicker time to get into SXU than UIC but, why not apply to both. UIC is a lot less expensive, being a state university.
Although, from working in health care I know that SXU nurses have a very good reputation, (not that UIC's don't but, SXU is really a good reputation).
In the time I took me to complete all my SXU pre-reqs for nursing I had enough credit hours for a degree, (as someone who transferred with an associates in Biolgoy). So, I ended up graduating and am currently enrolled in DePaul university's Master's Entry to Nursing program. I love it. A former coworker of mine is at SXU and I have heard good things about their program.
ALL nursing programs are hard, regardless, I think, of which school you go to. Support for the students may be what makes the program. Good luck!

I got in pretty easily. yeah......it is a bit expensive; but remember it is a private school. keep me posted!
Ms.vanessa....I had gone to jjc years ago. forgot that GPA. I did go to Waubonsee Comm. College, took some of the addictions counseling classes. I am phi beta kappa from there.....3.75. (it did get me a scholarship.)
As for st. xav's? I don't think it was too hard to get in, so I think you will have an easy time. If there are any problems, they will work with you. in fact, I just was out there this past week, seeing who I could hassle. Ah, the joys of being a student there.....large enough to get exercise, small enough to remember alums.
