Hey, folks. Just wondering if there are any other SXU alum out there.
If so, what year? Drop a line!
Ok, I know you are out there, somewhere....I am sure of at least one other alum.

Hi Suebird,
My graduation date was 05/2005 but not in nursing. My major was Sociology with a psychology minor and an Associates of Science in biology.
I completed all the pre requisites for the Master's entry to nursing program which began this September at DePaul university.
I love it!
Originally I was a transfer to SXU and wanted to go into their nursing program. Then I realized I could graduate so much sooner if I changed my degree to Sociology and that I could also squeeze in a minor in psychology too and also fulfill the requirements for the master's entry to nursing program and start this fall.
I am glad that I did that because it turns out that Sociology is really something that I am interested in, (and it also relates to nursing too).
Nice to read you,

Gen....we may have met in the halls somewhere. I wish you luck!
Though a BSN, I work LTC.....I would miss the hands on care, etc. I still get paperwork, though.

I attened from Spring of 2004 until Spring of 2005. The Student Support Program had my picture on a flyer tacked onto their board in the hallway just past the learning center downstairs, (if you went downstairs from the library stairwell and then headed to the cafeteria, you may have caught it). It was on the red paper.
We may have met then, cool!
Are you still local? I moved to Lincoln Park from Oak Forest to attend DePaul. So far I really like it, but it is intense. We are supposed to do our clinicals at Illinois Masonic, St. Joseph's and Children's hospitals. All of these are within a 1/4 mile to a mile from where I am at so, that is great too.

Hi,
I agree, I too would miss hands on care, (have worked in care since 1986, then next as a cna and pct/pca since 1989 and so on). I plan on working as a clinician, (could not myself in administration unless it was in policy promotion-advocacy).
I hope to pursue the FNP and see where things go from there.
Take care,
Gen
Hey, all. I still work LTC, though I have that BSN.
I have thought of checking out a few more classes I couldn't take during my time at SXU.....just for the "S & G" of it, and additional knowledge. :chuckle
