I will be applying for the LPN-RN Mobility and was wondering if there are any current students who can shed some light on the program. LPNs are admitted in the 2nd semester on a space available basis. How many LPNs usually pick up in the 2nd semester? I grad next Aug. and was trying for the Spring semester. Is that too soon? I am really tryng to evaluate my chances based on average available spaces. Any insight would be much appreciated.
You guys have fun! It will answer a lot of questions, and you will get a handbook that will answer even more. Get there early if you can, the line is out the door before you know it! If you have questions still after you go feel free to ask...I think I still remember 1st year...it was awhile ago, lol!
Orientation is Tuesday! I'm am so excited! I just can't wait! Anybody else feel the same way?
Oh, by the way, I don't know who does Facebook, but I started a Roane State Nursing Class of 2011 group on Facebook. Hopefully, it will allow everyone a chance to network, socialize and get to know each other. This is not an official school group, just a Facebook social group. Hope you will join! Please also let any other Roane State Nursing students know! See you at orientation on Tuesday!
Hey Beth! We didn't get a handbook at orientation. Maybe we will get it at the 2nd orientation in August. Were you able to hook up with any of the 2010 class and get to know them? I saw that you joined their Facebook group.
Hey Dee, did you get a chance to check out the Facebook group? It's call Roane State Nursing Class of 2011. There are a bunch of folks on there now.
Hey Dee78, what did you think of the orientation? There were alot of folks there. Did you get any of the T-shirts or supplies? I bought 2 T-shirts. I couldn't resist! LOL. I also bought a few supplies.
Were you able to get the classes that you needed? I'm really tickled because I got in at the Oak Ridge campus and it's only 15 minutes from the house. That helps out alot!

It has been awhile so I may be remembering wrong about the handbook. I know they go over it with you so it is probably going to be given out at the August orientation. There is a lot more specific info at the 2nd orientation, plus a great lunch! I think it is more fun than the first except for the part about the online library stuff...the lady that goes through it is just not an exciting speaker, lol! Yes, I joined the 2010 FB group, so if you looked at the page you know my face! You will like the faculty at Oak ridge they are all great teachers and wonderful people, and don't worry about Mrs. Stamm in lab, she is tough but compassionate and she wants you to do well. She expects everyone to do their best, but as long as she sees you are really trying she will give you a little help. She could always tell when I was nervous and would do or say something to take my mind off of it and help me focus. If you have questions just ask and I will do my best to help!
I couldn't resist the stuff either. I bought 2 tshirts, the clipboard, steth hip clip, and something else. Plus I got a lab coat, its the only part of the uniform that I didn't already have.
I'm really eager to hear back about the online program, Wednesday was a rough day with the misinformation I received and she didn't call back today as promised. I will give it until Tuesday and then I'll start my email blitz again.
I got my acceptance letter 2 days ago :)
jamiewright,
Congratulations to you on getting your acceptance letter to Roane State . I know you are very excited. I have a few more pre-reqs to take. Also, I have already applied to Roane State and another nursing school for the fall 2010 semester. Again, Congratulations!!!!
Vitamin C
Yeah A and P I was the month of June, and A and P has been July. It's 4 days a week, class is 8-1050, and lab is 1130-230 everyday. One more week left though. Then I start a 3 week CNA class, I was hoping to get a job and have them pay for my second year of nursing school...maybe. So my summer was lost but it's for the greater good.
I have it in my hot little hands!!!
"The Nursing Admissions Committee met recently to review candidates for admission into the Nursing Program. We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Roane State's Nursing Program for Fall Semester, 2009."
Yippee! Yippee!
Orientation meeting on May 19th in the Theatre on the Harriman Campus! I'm so excited.
I'll be applying there and I just wanted to know what your GPA was for your gen ed. course, if you don't mind. You can pm me if you'd like. I'll be applying there in January 2010. Thanks.
