Any Roane State Students

Published

I will be applying for the LPN-RN Mobility and was wondering if there are any current students who can shed some light on the program. LPNs are admitted in the 2nd semester on a space available basis. How many LPNs usually pick up in the 2nd semester? I grad next Aug. and was trying for the Spring semester. Is that too soon? I am really tryng to evaluate my chances based on average available spaces. Any insight would be much appreciated.

They usually take about 160 each year...that's what they admitted the year I got in.

Hey Beth,

Does the 160 include RODP? Or is that number just Roane State on-campus folks?

I'm not positive, but I think it is just bodies in classrooms. But, don't hold me to that!;) When I got in the first time they told us 800 had applied and 160 got in.

I got my acceptance letter 2 days ago :)

Beth,

I'm worried about ya. Have you received your readmit letter yet? Like I said before, Roane State really should hire you as a recruiter! You are the best cheerleader that their program has! I'm really looking forward to meeting you face to face! You are such an amazing and giving person!

No nothing yet, Dean Spitzer told me I would get my letter after everyone else, so I'm trying to be patient...unfortunately she didn't say how much after. I may have to wait until after finals to see who isn't moving on next year. Unhappily, my getting in means someone in class this year as a 1st year doesn't make it. She said with my grades for classes and clinicals in 1st year, getting back in should be no problem as long as there was room for me. I just want to see the letter in my hands ya know?;)

Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. You'll make a wonderful nurse!

Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. You'll make a wonderful nurse!

Thanks! It's good to know my true character comes through on here, lol! Seriously though, I think I may wear a name tag with my allnurses name on it and see who knows me at orientation!;):lol2:

Well, I went to graduation tonight and it was hard, but not too awful...I am just so happy and proud for all my friends and I will get there too I know it! It was beastly hot in the gym though, and at the reception after in the student lounge, and it was muggy outside! Everyone in cap and gown was melting! I have an update of sorts, I e-mailed Dean Spitzer yesterday and she answered me right away and told me they will be meeting next week (hopefully early next week) to decide about 1st and 2nd year readmits so....since I have no idea who didn't make it this year (I know about me and one other person who failed the math test last Fall, but who knows who else there is) I am on pins and needles for the next, possibly, 5 days...fun! I am also waiting to hear about 2 possible CNA jobs I have interveiwed for...one in a LTC facility and one for a home healthcare agency....waiting really stinks, lol! Hopefully I will be on here in a day or 2 yelling my head off...so to speak!:D I'm going to pinning tomorrow, they are paying tribute to my friend who died of cancer last Summer, so I'll let you know how I do.:o I should be able to get more pictures of my firends tomorrow, graduation isn't to good for that...it's too crowded and everybody is far away during the ceremony. It should be fun, sad, and great!:heartbeat

Getting really excited and scared! Orientation is just a week away. I can't wait. I don't know what to expect at orientation or what they are going to say.

On the plus side, they said that we could bring a guest. Guess who's coming? My Dad! Can you believe it? I'm 41 years old and my Dad said he wanted to come to orientation with me. I thought that was really sweet.

If my Mamaw (grandmother) was still alive, I would bring her too. She always wanted to be a nurse. She got married and never went to nursing school, though. She used to tell me all the time when I was a little girl that I would make a wonderful nurse. She passed away 3 years ago. My only regret is that she didn't get to see me pursue my dream and hers. I know she's watching, though. :heartbeat

I got my letter...I'm back IN! Yeah!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah: I can't wait to get back there and finish! I will not be at this month's orientation, because it is only for the new first years, but I will be there on August 28th for the 2nd Orientation and I...can't...wait!:D Bring money to this month's orientation, because the 2nd years sell stuff you all will need for school as a fundraiser for our pinning ceremony, and I will look forward to "seeing" you in August! If you have any questions about anything, including orientation, just ask!:loveya::up::heartbeat

Hey Beth! Congratulations!!!

:yeah:I knew you would get back in! You will make a wonderful nurse and they knew that! I know that it has to a relief to you, though. :yeah:

I'm getting really excited about orientation on Tuesday. I can't wait! :D
