Any Penn SRNA starting in May09'??

Published

Hey guys,

I just got accepted to Penn's CRNA program for the May09 cohort...just wanted to network and see who else is out there.

hi dee. i am moving all the way from texas. yes, the cost of the program is high, but i think that the result, experience, etc. are well worth the cost. where are you moving from? i am really excited about the program and meeting future classmates. :)

hey everyone:p! i am so happy to meet you both on here! yes, i applied to case/clinic program, upitt and laroche. i have been accepted to laroche as well and still have not interviewed for the others. upenn was my first choice! i too think that the program is the strongest i have looked at from every angle and i think that it will be very personal with the small class size. i loved the directors when i met them in the interview and i felt like they really took the time to answer all my questions and paint a clear picture of what the program can offer. am currently living in pittsburgh but i just finished travel nursing in baltimore. i actually did an assignment in philly, so i know a bit about the area. i lived in south philly on the broad line and it was great. for school tho, rittenhouse or graduate hospital would be awsome! northern liberties is really cool too...but a bit farther from campus. i am 27f single with no kids(unless you count a 10 lb dog!) how about u guys?

I am also applying to laroche/allegheny valley. Just curious when you interviewed? I was told that they will start notifying qualified applicants in Nov.

so ya think you might be in for aug 2009 after you declined for 2008? i did hear that the interview was straight clinical questions. i would love to know your experience with the interview. i guess neither one of use have enough "meaningful posts" yet so you can share your info on this forum or you can send me a private message

hi soon2bcrna. i do not have enough posts yet either and it would be super long if i left it on here so when i can pm you, then i will. i will say that basically, deb will keep drilling you until she finds your weakness. i was beat when i left there! she asked a lot of specific questions about cardiac and meds as well. some of what she asks...i do not think any nurse would know and she does it just to see if you panic and run for the hills..lol. i actually just had a few drinks with like 7 members of the current class(the one that i would have been in) cuz i was unaware at the time but i actually know a girl in the class. all of the students seem to love it and they all maintain that even though deb is not warm in the interview..she is very approachable and relaxed with them once they are in.

oh, and yes...she did say that i will have a seat in the 09 class if i want to attend.

great, maybe i'll see you there.....if i get lucky enough to interview and not totally bomb the interview

no worries, ill pm when i get enough posts and give you to lowdown..what specialty are you working in?

to any of the students that are currently attending the upenn program...how was the financial aid process? did penn give you any grants or did you have to borrow the entire 50,000 plus cost of living loans? also...has anyone offered you living stipends or support thus far? thanks!
