Trying to get a feel for other NPs who have worked/are working for Optum in long-term care. Curious about your experiences/recommendations. Thanks!

Hi wondering if you took the job with Optum? There are quite a few jobs in my area and just looking for anyone's experience?

I did clinical with Optum and a few of my classmates have taken a position with them. Did you ever end up working there?

Do you happen to know how the bonuses work there? I am looking into a position here on the Western US w/ Optum as a NP.

Had a phone interview. Just wondering about the LTC position, hours, workload, holidays, satisfaction with job etc?

I work with Optum NPs in LTC as a psych provider. I don't know the details, but they are good people, and seem fairly relaxed, and they don't seem like they have to meet huge quotas to meet their salary.

That being said, a lot of NPs believe that 100k is a fine salary, and I do not.

I recently had a phone interview with them and was offered the job. The process was fine, the people I spoke to seemed sincere and nice to talk to.

The job itself seemed decent, however the pay was a little bit lower than what I would have expected for all the travel required - covering a 5 state area, being on the road most of time with the need to pick up and take it to a totally different state on a moment's notice if called to do so.

I think the company's financials were in order, so no worries there. I think the organizational structure supported NPs fairly well too.

In the end, I was a bit hesitant to take a job after only phone interviews, I hadn't even given any references yet or anything. I ended up taking a job with a group that has a pretty solid reputation, and there were 4 live interviews.
