Dear all,
I want to apply to Samuel Merritt College for their ABSN program, and I need to take pharmacology and pathophysiology classes. I have a fulltime job; and no college nearby offer these during the evening.
Have any of you taken these classes online? Any recommendations?
Thanks so much!!

Hi, there! I actually am doing the exact same thing, and was online just now looking at online patho/pharm classes. I'm getting freaked out though reading past posts by people who took these classes - seems like they are both quite difficult! I will be taking one of them with anatomy, but it sure sounds like it would be better if I had A&P behind me first. Anyway, here is the link provided by Samuel Merritt for taking these classes (which they offer online as well): http://www.samuelmerritt.edu/files/documentation/patho_and_pharm_course_suggestion.pdf
Good luck to you!

Hi! Woodland Community College in Woodland, CA ofers both of these classes online. They may already be full for the fall semester though. Sac City College and American River College offer Pharm online as well.
I am taking patho right now and I don't think it's too difficult. Just a lot of reading. Pharm wasn't difficult either (I took it through Sac City). They are both bascically self-study classes. Don't expect too much input from your professors. Let me know if I can tell ou anything else about these courses!
Good luck =)

I'm taking the same Patho as the poster above except I went through the Yuba college portal. I agree 100% with what they said - it is a self-study course and a lot of reading. Taking it over summer has required a lot of time so I think taking it over a regular semester would allow you to absorb more. I know they also have an online Pharm class, too.

I highly suggest Santa Barbara City College and Moorpark...both on SMC's list...but make sure you pick the right class. I have the books and will sell them (along with other goodies). if interested...hit me up
So far, very easy and free/cheap.

I made the mistake of procrastinating so now I have to start my Pathophysiology class through Nebraska's online course and it cost over $1000! Has anyone taken this course and finished it? How long did it take with getting your grade and all? Was it hard?

I am going to take the online Path course through U of Nebraska, too and would love some input on how it is! I have already signed up for Chem through them and will start on Jan 5th once Blackboard is up and running(they did upgrades over the holiday).

I took both Patho and Pharmacology online through Woodland/Yuba last semester, and agree with this. There were quite a few people hoping to attend Samuel Merritt in the classes.
