Any one taking there LPN in New York

Published

I was just accepted into the 11 month program at Eastern Suffolk Boces on Long Island in New York. I am excited , I am a CNA so i sort of know what nurses do so I'am not to scared of working as a LPN I'am more scared of school. I have been a college student for two years so I have been non-stop with school since i got out of high school. But I'am not use to going to school during the summer and from 8 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday. However i would love some tips on how to keep my self alive thru this time in my LPN course and what I need to watch out for. Just some good tips. Also if you have went to Boces can you please tell me where to get the books they never sent me the letter stating where I need to buy them from that would be very helpful because they have already sent me homework and I have no book I start in September. :nurse:

Hello!, I went thru a LPN BOCES program in Rockland so sorry I can not help you with the books they should have given you a list at orientation. The best advice I can give is to study, study, study and when you don't know something don't be afraid to ask the teacher. Stay after school to review your test so that you understand why you got the question wrong. Make sure you take time out for yourself because the program is accelerated, so that you are able to process all that information. Having experience as a CNA should help. I graduated this pass June, the months went by sooo fast. Just stay focus and you should do just fine!!!!:)
