Ostomy care question
i work in a nursing home and i take care of two patients with ostomy bags. You have to make sure the site is cleaned at all times , also it is put on correctly and fits correctly. I change it q24h during am care and the rest of the shift monitor the site and burp the bag. However during cleaning you are bringing blood to the surface which is promoting circulation. I like to clean with a wash cloth with ivory soap nothing with fragrants. Also when the are is cleaned i use a prep which helps the adhesive stick better also try rubing the wafer between your hands to warm it older nurses taught me that it really does help with it sticking to the surface better i hope that helped.

Hello i need some homework help.
Hello well I am a LPN student and I am suppose to interview nurses so i figured this might be the best way because i might be able to get a lot of responses. well I have some questions for the interview. 1. Why did you choose to be a nurse? 2.What school did you attend and why? 3. If you could give me some tips what would they be? 4. How long have you been a nurse? 5.What are your likes and dislikes about nursing? And if you would like to tell me more information that would be appreciated. I thank everyone that responded to my post.:)

I am a Pre-Nursing student and I have several questions. Thanks in advance!
well as for A&P i had taken the course in college, i would recommend to defiantly study almost everyday. And learn that post its and flash cards are going to be your bestfriends for the semester. Well , what i would also recomend is A&P for dummies book its actually very helpful. Like study from your text and the dummies book. The dummies was great it was like a quick overview of what i had learned. What ever your lecture was about like lets say the digestive system read it over in your dummy book and do the questions in the book it really helps.

Any one taking there LPN in New York
I was just accepted into the 11 month program at Eastern Suffolk Boces on Long Island in New York. I am excited , I am a CNA so i sort of know what nurses do so I'am not to scared of working as a LPN I'am more scared of school. I have been a college student for two years so I have been non-stop with school since i got out of high school. But I'am not use to going to school during the summer and from 8 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday. However i would love some tips on how to keep my self alive thru this time in my LPN course and what I need to watch out for. Just some good tips. Also if you have went to Boces can you please tell me where to get the books they never sent me the letter stating where I need to buy them from that would be very helpful because they have already sent me homework and I have no book I start in September.
