Any nursing student please help???

Published

Im a male junior in highschool right now. I have always wanted to go into nursing. IDK why. But the thing is, my grades have not shown how much i actually want to do it. I have a 3.25 soon to be 3.3 GPA. If i work hard in college, would i be able to get a BSN in nursing?? also what classes should i take, i took anatamy and physiology and loved it!!

You would have to get into the school of your choosing first. Unless you are an honors student you will pretty much be starting at the same level as anyone else. the school is going to have certain guidelines or pre-req's you will in order to even get into that particular program.

Only if you are going to a highly competitive (ex.Yale) you should be ok. I would first check out the admission requirements to the college then check out the requirements to apply to the program. Either way you are looking at least 3-5 semesters of work before you apply.

Don't worry,, u'll be fine! :) I did horrible in high school, not because I lacked the brains but because I lacked the drive. I didn't learn til later in life the value of education. Now that I'm in college, I have a 3.51 overall GPA & a 4.0 GPA in my prereqs. I know programs are hard to get into, but I'm sure that if we work hard for it, it'll pay off in the end...

I did horrible in high school as well for the same reasons as the poster above me stated. I think many schools look at the fact that you graduated and what classes you have taken. Taking my school as an example, they didn't really care about my GPA. They were more concerned that I graduated and took algebra and earned at least a "C" in that subject. One school I applied to wanted transcripts and another just wanted a copy of my diploma. But you'll be fine. :)
