Air Force, thank you !
Was a medic at the time, but would go back now as a nurse in a heartbeat ! And work on one of those floating hospitals out at sea.. wow.
Seriously, Navy or Air Force for sure.
Don't know how things are today.. some of the ppl I've talked to lately about the military blows my mind... how much things have changed.. re health benefits, educational benefits, etc., etc.
Seems like the "good ol' days" are gone now. Seems like everyone else, they've "downsized" and reduced a lot of the previously taken for granted benefits. Don't take my word on it, though. Go check it out for yourself and inquire. THOROUGHLY.
But did I love it? You BETCHA !!!!! Would join up again, but don't reckon they want the ol' Grannies...

Thinking a bit more about this, here is some unsolicited advice:
Visit your local USAF and Navy recruiters and see which branch will offer you the better deal for THEM to pay for your nurse training. Worth a try (of course, GET IT IN WRITING), you've got nothing to lose, and if nothing else you will see what you think of these people and their programs. Make up your mind ahead of time that you are not going to sign anything--at least for a few days--just gather information and see how well your wants mesh with their possibilities.
While you are there, find out what post-license opportunities they will offer you, as well. Immediate commission as a captain? What does this mean in terms of $$$$? Any choice of assignment? Etc. Don't rush in and out, but plan to spend some time and get all your questions answered and hear about all their offers and possibilities.
Within reason, the more options you have, the more likely your decisions will fit your wishes, hopes, and guesses.

Try the "government employed nurses," since that is where they hang out.
Navy or Air Force would be the best choices, IMHO.
