Any NAU graduates?

U.S.A. Colorado

I enrolled in NAUs nursing program because of the huge wait list for PPCC, but I'm concerned about their accreditation status. Once I finish the RN program, will I be eligible to sit for state boards, and will I be eligible for hire? This is all confusing to me as I have heard many different opinions about the NAU program. Thanks for any feed back you can give.

You know its funny you say that because about 3 years ago when they 1st started advertising for their nursing program I went in there and talked to them. I quickly realized they actually didn't have a program when the 'salesmen' tried to tell me Health Management was better then nursing and tried to push me into signing papers on the spot!

I have yet to fine on person who is in the program just taking pre-reqs there and from what I have heard they are always changing things making the student's take different classes.

I agree. It was as though there was a Nursing Program but it was in the Twilight Zone:confused:. I did talk to someone and they actually gave me information on the RN program so I wasn't given the run around on that. It did seem as though there was a lot of turn over in staff so I, too, am curious....

I found out that one of the girls that I work with goes there! She really likes it and I guess they except 25 each start and she has been doing her clinicals at Denver Health so far. She also told me that she feels really prepared and enjoys the teachers, they are really helpful. I guess you need to hold your grade (once your in the program) in the nursing classes at a 85%! That's pretty much all she had told me. Hope this helps people out!

Anyone have any idea what the price range is there? I know they are regional accredited school but when I went in there I almost felt like there was a lot of smoke and mirrors....if that makes any sense:uhoh3:

I went in there and they told me the prices and were not smoke and mirrors with me. I asked many questions and was very blunt with everything! LOL It is 289 per credit and I believe it turns out to be about 35 thousand for the program. The info session helped me out a lot on how things work there. I like to attend as many as I can at all the schools of my interest so I know who I feel I like and who I don't care for. Hope this helps you out!
