Any other Mother/Daughter Students?

My 19-yo daughter and I are taking our second class together - last semester chemistry and now A&P. We are always lab partners. I will be starting the nursing clinicals in the fall, while she is hoping to get into the Ultrasound Program. Our Profs always seem to get a "kick" out of our labs - we are always partners. They hear, "honey, you get the ...., I'll start the ...." and then, "Moooommmm....." :chuckle

She got me a school sweatshirt for my 47th birthday - next week! She gave it to me early!

Any other mother/daughters out there?

What a cool experience. The closest I can come is that my daughter is a CNA student taking a correspondence course 7 states away. She's already a medical assistant who has phlebotomy and wound care experience under her belt so we talk about those issues that I'm currently being checked off on.

My daughter is a CNA now. She told me not to be mean to the CNAs when I become an RN - remember that they are "somebody's daughter."

There was a mother-daughter pair doing school together in my A&P courses. Both worked at the same inpatient psych facility together as well - Mom was a psychologist, and dau was a tech/aide. They were going for their RN/ADNs. :)

That is just soo cool! I wish my daughter would consider nursing...... she has considered becoming a phlebotomist tho, so that may be as close as I come.

My daughter and I are also in nursing school together. I am one semester ahead of her so we don't have any classes together. I do try to chase away all the wicked evil monsters on her path though!

We should graduate next summer and fall respectively. I don't know that we will work together as she is interested in Peds/OB and I prefer Geriatrics.

My 15 year old daughter has decided she wants to be a nurse, as well as my 15 year old step-daughter. Unfortunately, I won't have the opportunity to take classes with them (and they are probably glad about that at their age!), but that would be so dear an experience!

Well my Mother/Daughter thing is not exactly like yours but....

MY mom is a RN-BSN, I am doing my pre-reqs for my Nursing program and I am a EMT-B, my sister is pre-med and a CNA, and my other sister is planning to go to Nursing School once she graduates from High School and she is already an CNA.. :)

I think that's great!!! 20 years ago when my sister in-law was 19 - she decided to go to Nursing School and her Mom (having been a stay at home Mom for years) decided to join her. They helped each other through school and being the only 2 females in a house full of "guys" - helped each other with the cooking, laundry ,etc. and both graduated near the top of their class.

Twenty years later they are both still Nurses and love their jobs. I think it's wonderful how much they have supported each other through the years in their careers. Best of luck to you and your Daughter!!! SusanNC
