Hi! My name is Lauren and I am looking to connect with any Misericordia University ABSN 2021 students at the Pittsburgh campus! Anyone out there?

I also had known for a while now that it wasn't going to be accepted so it was not a surprise to me, my advisor told me with enough time so I could take it at a local community college prior to my start date; plus I know that not all schools accept it so I knew it was a possibility.
I'm sure there must be a reason for your classes but it's unfortunate it came as a surprise to you.
Good job at getting into the MSN program that must be very exciting!
And thank you, my partner and I will be moving to Pittsburgh as well. It's a big move but totally worth it for our futures! Best of luck to you and your partner!
Hello @Cel0424,
are you currently enrolled in the ABSN program at Misericordia University? If yes, what are your thoughts on the program thus far.

No. I went to that ELMSN program. Misericordia didn't recognize several of my prereqs for some reason. Think I mentioned this in an earlier thread. I had literally just taken statistics, human development, and nutrition at an accredited community college and had a 4.0. The advisor at miseri said that the classes wouldn't be honored and I needed to retake them at miseri. I implored them to tell me why, asked to review the syllabi for the classes (they never supplied them for review), ultimately they had no valid answer and just said I could take them again online through them. The only thing I could think of was it must be a revenue generator to make people retake classes. I also learned that their satellite ABSN is in an office park by the PGH airport and they don't have a campus in the Pittsburgh area. The whole process with them not accepting valid credits, being somewhat misled about their campus location, and hearing some stories from unsatisfied students made me look elsewhere. If you already have a bachelors degree look at La Roche University. They offer an accelerated entry level master of nursing program that is 20 months. It's easier to get financial aid for grad school if you already pegged it for undergrad. They have a lovey campus just north of Pittsburgh and you end up with a masters degree for about the same price as an ABSN.

Hello,
I am currently enrolled and I am set to graduate this coming May! I love the program. Some others may have had a negative experience but I've had a pleasant experience at Misericordia so far. I also had a very smooth admission process. Although I had to retake a course, the school had no problem with me taking the class at a community college back home where I'm from. They also let me know far enough in advance so I could get it done prior to school starting. I highly recommend. I've gotten very good grades so far and I love that the classes are small. I would recommend attending an open house so you can see the location. It is in an office building but you also have access to the gym and cafeteria in the building. It's located in the Robinson area so also very close to a lot of restaurants and what not.
