I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.
Thanks for your interest!
Jessica1024,
I got my grades for the semester already miami dade posted today. 5/2/09
I was excited because I did extremely well but i am still scared cause I have not acceptance letter as of yet So now to go check the mail everyday for the next 30 days...........Which program did u apply for?
I currently have a 2.75 GPA and should have a 3.23 by the end of the summer semester. I want to apply for the jan/2010 generic nursing program at MDC, but am worried my 3.23 won't cut it. Will my fall classes count towards their consideration or will the grades not be in on time? If someone could please let me know I would really appreciate it. I called the medical campus and asked what the average GPA they accepted into the program was and they told me that the last semester the lowest GPA they accepted was a 3.5. So I am really scared!!!! Anyone have any insight?
Shen06,
I wonder if anyone with a 3.5 has applied and ever been rejected? I can believe alot of ppl have atleast a 3.5 ....hmmmmm makes me wonder. I have a 3.53 and applied to the PART TIME PROGRAM and I am thinking about bitting my nails in order to alleviated the pressure LOL When are they going to start sending out notices is my question?
Vrivera024,
Welcome hmmmm NET exam I didn't hear of such thing at MDC. I called today and the lady told me we should get letters by the end of May. I am wondering one thing. If you get an envelope does that mean it's a rejection letter. If you get a PACKET (big yellow envelope) it means you accepted? I've been reading posts from like 3 to 4 yrs ago trying to figure out this process that I am totally confused about ?

I was just reading that soon the new deadline is coming up and everyone will be getting their letters! I thought the worst part was the wait to get into the program, but then comes the wait to get the test grades, and the wait to see if you passed, and the wait to take the exams, and the waiting is going to last a long time.....and it is so stressful. The whole program is so stressful, but I know it is well worth it. I just can not wait for Dec.....I am looking forward to passing everything on my first try and graduating this year.
