I start nursing school at Miami Dade College next week. I don't have much to say about the program just yet...ask me in a week or two. They do require you to buy nearly $1000 in books for the first semester....but I think that is the norm for most schools.
Was accepted with a 3.93 GPA. I don't know what the lowest accepted GPA was..but I do know someone that got in with a 3.81. They aid they had over 1200 applicants...and accepted 200. As you know...acceptance is purely GPA based. If you get a letter telling you that you have to come in for a "mandatory information session"...your as good as in.
Good Luck!!

Wish me luck!

Hi....I hope you are doing great in the program and that you are still posting on this web-site.
I got a letter last week for a information session, my gpa is 3.4 and i am just worry that is not enough, and they going to reject me later.
I am going to the medical campus next week for that.
i hope u can give me some advice about all this, maybe i am worrying to much!!!
thank you.......hope to hear from u
take care
If you got a letter for an "information session" you are as good as in. They invite the top applicants in to give them a presentation about the scholars programs available at Baptist and Jackson. If you got an invite, you are high enough on the list to be invited to apply for one of these programs. I would say that you have a 95% chance of getting in. Congratulations.

I applied to MDC Generic RN with a 3.3 and I got rejected =( As you all know, the programs at UM and FIU might be getting cut or something like that. I got accepted to FIU but for Fall '09 (a whole year). So Barry accepted me. Lol, crazy times. I've heard that the MDC acceptance letters should be going out anytime soon!
