Just curious and if so how is the patient/family response. Do they feel comfortable with a male RN seeing their children (just cause of stigma, ect...) I'm interested in possibly picking up a couple days a week at a local public school and just looking for a feel of the whole thing before making a big decision.

I know in the past my school has used a male nurse as a sub nurse and never had any complaints about him.

The nurse before me in one of my prior schools was male. The kids were really upset when he left to persue a career in a public school. I also know of a male school nurse a few towns over from me. From what I hear, everyone loves him! I say go for it!! What a terrific role model you will be for the boys that may be interested in nursing!
