I jsut moved in the dc/md/va area and Im looking for a nursing tech shool(not a cc or university) a friend of mine goes to ECPI but she advised me not to apply there b/c of all the problems they(her class) is having so is there any other scools like that aroung but that is more organized than ECPI?

I'll be starting the LPN program at CTS in February '09. I've heard it is structured with classroom time and clinicals. I've also heard that it is a great school. When I start I'll be sure to come back here to give an update.

How did you like the CNA program? I was thinking about doing it but haven't heard much about it.

Specializes in None yet.

Back to the origional question - Does anyone know of any LPN programs at CC's or tech schools in N VA or DC metro area?

Career Training Soulutions which is in Fredericksburg

Global Health Nurse Training Solutions which is in Alexandria, Va

I do not recommend ECPI (Manassas/Northern Virginia campus) LPN 14 month program! Save yourself a $29,000.00 mistake. I registered my daughter at the Northern Virginia ECPI campus in Manassas, VA and it has been a nightmare! They are severely understaffed for the LPN program. They are also VERY unorganized. During the "tour" to lure you in - -you are told about their smaller classroom sizes, unlimited tutoring when needed, the LPN program's high success rate. Well, for an inside look - - they are having to combine

classrooms (doubling the number of students per instructor), in the 5 weeks it takes to complete a class they have 3 (THREE) different instructors (now, how effective can that learning experience be), your clinicals do not line up with what you are actually learning in the classroom at that time - all you are actually doing the entire clinical time is wiping butts, tutoring is VERY limited - how can they have extra tutoring time available when they are having such a hard time staffing for the actual classroom time, students are failing classes having to retake it which adds to the already ridiculous cost for the 14 month program. My opinion of this school is they are just in it for the money $ $ $. I would not recommend ECPI . . . EVER. If you are looking for an effective nursing program - try Germanna Comm College. I have heard wonderful reviews from at least a dozen colleagues/patients - just a little too late to save myself A LOT of money and my daughter A LOT of grief!
