Are there any LPN's going to (or considering) Pima Medical Institute's LPN to ADN program in Mesa. AZ? Please share any info. The positive and negative aspects of this school program. Thank you so much.

I am thinking about Pima Medical Institute too. Did you go to the orientation? I did and they made you take a wonderlic test and have to pass with a 25. Then you have to take a math test, essay four pages long and an interview to be considered. I guess its worth it if you can get it. LPN to RN spots are only 3-8 per 8 months. But the lighter side you don't have to do any pre-classes. I went to the nursing orientation this week, the class does not start until Jan 7, 2013. They will let you know if you are picked in October 2012. I hope to be one of the lucky ones for the LPN to RN class. Hope to see you there.

Considering the option myself. I did hear that one of the classes in the LPN-ADN was a LPN refresher which requires the HESI-PN at the completion. I wonder if you have already taken it and scored high if they no longer require it?
Also do you know what classes are in the LPN-ADN Blocks? I hate to sit through an information session and more entrance tests to find out nothing more than I already know. I have already attended one previously, but had opted into the LPN at Gateway instead.

I know that U of Phoenix also offers this route, does anyone know any information about the LPN to BSN program offered there?
U of P all pre/co reqs need to be a B or above and within a specific time frame. You take all of the general ed classes before you start any nursing classes. Classes are 1 night a week for like 4 hours x 5 week blocks. No idea about clinical. You do alot with learning teams, as in alot of group assignments. But there aren't any entrance exams. If you contact an advisor and send them a copy of a transcript they will tell you what you need and when you would start. Oh and there are a lot of papers to write APA, MLA format. Not sure which.
Almost did that, maybe should have. But I really don't like group project work. Once in a while is ok, but every class... not my idea of great.
