I'm headed to upstate NY. I'm originally from Jersey so I'm not too far from home. Where are you from originally? Were you a staff nurse before you started traveling?

I'm getting ready to start traveling also. I live in Ohio and for right now I will only be traveling in Ohio. I have children that are still in school and don't want to miss out on there sports. According to my recruiter I'm able to work out a schedule to work 3 shifts in a row so that I'm able to come home for 4 days. I'm an labor and delivery nurse also. I'm very nervous because every hospital is different in there policies and procedures. Can anyone tell me of there travel experiences in labor and delivery? I have 2 years experience.

Hey bneighbor, I was trying to work out a schedule where I could go work consecutive days and go home too but unfortunately the unit where I work couldn't do it. The manager just plugged me into the days where she was short staffed. I'm working every single weekend and have a lot of on-1, off-1 days so I really can't do anything on my off days. I originally came to my assignment alone but after receiving my schedule I ended up sending for my family. Otherwise I would never get to go home to see them.
